I just finished reading "Amber and Ashes." Now, I'm not trying to start a flame session, I'm just looking for other opinions. I wasn't all that impressed with the book. I'm not all too sure I like the direction that they are going, either. Vampyre's? I guess I can understand Chemosh doing it, but why now? And the gods are fighting amongst themselves? By that I mean, good gods against good gods and evil gods against evil gods. Just doesn't seem like its something that would have happened before. Please feel free to express your opinions. I'm always open to listen to others reasons on why it was good or bad. Keep in mind as well, I have yet to read the new one. So this is just an assessment of the first book.

First off the Beloved aren't vampires. You get their game statistics in Amber and Iron. Which is also out. As for good gods fighting one another? Are you perhaps referring to Mishakal's more militant stance, and the fact that good gods are competing ferociously for mortal worshippers? Next, the direction the books are going is even more bizarre than you know. Pick up Amber & Iron. It gets worse.
