The book on Knights is supposed to be rleased on June 5, accordin to Amazon. Any idea if this is accurate?

Also, I am not sure if htis is covered in te book, but could a cleric of Mishakel nopw become a knight of the sword or of Solamnia?

1. Stop using Amazon as your basis for determining the release dates of game books.

2. No. A cleric of Mishakal would be an auxiliary member of the Orders.

What criticisms?

I think that if you don't hear anything, assume that there's nothing to tell.

Over in the Official Dragonlance boards it was mentioned that the book is in review by WotC. Once done there, they will send it off to the printers. I wouldn't expect to see the book Until August or Spetember. If it comes sooner, then it will be a pleaseant surprise.

Overall, for most of SP's publications I would just add 3-6 months to the printed release date as to when to expect it. With the limited reources they have, the release dates they put out seem to just be a token date for the business side of things. Now I'm not criticizing, just looking at it from my experience an observations of SP's release dates. I'd rather wait those few extra months and have a good product than get a rushed and poorly published product.

I would appreciate knowing that products are going to be delayed rather than waiting in hope that they will be released when promised. I mean, it is not like they begin writing the product on the 4th of June, one would think that there would be at least 6 months or so of writing before the cover and the release date are announced. Makes sense to me.

I am going to purchase the product no matter when it comes out, it just would be nice to know, ya know?

Like I said in the other thread, I would just quit giving out release dates and put out something vague like "In the coming months, this supplement will be published". Then there are no promised release dates.

Me, heck, I am just glad they are still printing stuff for DL.

I hope that Huma remains a Fighter/Knight of the Crown, or takes advantage of the materials found within the covers of this book.

*I* hope they use the alternate reality Huma wherein he was a Black Robed Wizard of High Sorcery riding a green dragon.

No, seriously Treymordin, what the crap else would he be? Somefighterclass/Someknightclass. It's a non-issue, really. Please, please quit Amaron Blackthorning up these threads. Please?

He's a half-irda half-kender barbarian/bard. We feel it's the most accurate and true to the source version possible.

I can always tell it's summer around here, because all of the old fan favorite posters start posting again after their fall and spring classes.

Ah, the Kendirda Bardbarian. A classic character archetype to symbolize the one who codified such a path in the first place. Huma Dragonbane will live forever in our hearts and minds. Who could forget his fanciful garb or his powerful rage?

Does everyone else remember the time that he and his cohort Magius (a sneaky and honorable Half-Fiend Pseudonatural Minotaur Vampire Mariner/Ninja) defeated the legendary Aspect of Chemosh in a game of high-card? Their awe inspiring use of both tactics and brutality will live on unto eternity.

And who could forget Huma's defeat of the dreaded Lord Fluffy, master vampire of the Ergothian Empire? Their careful use of the "dragging his coffin into the sun and ripping the lid off" method lead to a whole new style of vampire hunting that lasted until just after the Chaos War.

I guess my personal favorite Huma story is where he made an avatar of himself to allow access to the Wizards of the Coast Message Boards. Through such an avatar, he could dispense his wisdom in a new medium.

Who that avatar is, we may never know. My best guess is Talinthas, but there's equal money on it being Cam or Jamie.

Your comment are not appreciated. I am free to express my views and what is wrong with me saying that I hope that they keep him in those classes? If you dont like what I have to say then dont respond, after all, who stared this discussion?

Of course, you are free to express your views. I just find it a bit superfluous to say "I hope that Huma is a Fighter/Knight of the Crown". That'd be like starting a thread and including the line "I hope when they release Raistlin's stats, they give him a level of Wizard" or "Gosh, I sure hope that Goldmoon gets a level of Cleric in her Chronicles version". Yes, I realize they've already released Raistlin's stats at several levels of awesome, as well as Goldmoon's.

Also, you have my sincerest apologies for my "Amaron Blackthorn" comment. I really shouldn't compare you to what I always thought was a gimmick account from two years ago.

Oh, and Dragonhelm, you have my apologies as well. I guess the only reason I never thought that you were our favorite Kendirda Bardbarian's electronic avatar was because it might be too obvious. My mistake.

In the book Huma did kill/destory several knights/warriors/dread-wolves (forget which, might have been a combo of each) and after he didn't even remember the fight. You could that a "rage".

Huma took on several members of the Black Guard and several dreadwolves at one point in the novel. He defeated them all, though blood was all around him. When the battle was over and he could see straight again, he dropped to one knee and wept.

It wasn't rage, like a barbarian's rage. Rather, it was the sheer determination to endure. Huma was called to greatness, though he himself did not know it, and he would do what it took to fight for what was right and his faith in Paladine.

I hope we see the Black Guard in the KoA book. When I mention the name to my players, they instantly think of the PrC in the DMG and dread fills their eyes. I let that perception continue, a nice feeling for a DM. They are obviously different in DL. It will be a pleasent surprise for them when they eventually do encounter them.

Not very likely since it's a book about knights. If anything, you'll see members of the Black Guard. Which also isn't very likely.

Galen Dracos was an uber renegade in the Dragonwar that Huma fought in. He almost destroyed the Knights and almost allowed Taki victory.

Amaron Blackthorn? Who's that?

Amaron Blackthorn was a poster here a while back, and there was some sort of contraversy with him at the other Dragonlance Forums. He and I argued a lot about trivial things. I shant speak ill of those not present to defend themselves, but sufficed to say that he wasn't exactly a well liked person; if I understand the emotions of other posters.

Is that a problem? :P

Only when it's me that's returning. I tend to cause fights. Or pop up during fights. Or egg people on after a fight has died down. Or be the direct cause of fights that have no basis in reality, or fantasty.

The month is almost over and as of yet no word as to when the book will be released, even from the DL webpage. Does this mean that all of the other products slated to be released this year will also be moved back?

Well, I *just* got off the phone with a certain man whose name rhymes with Chamie Jambers. He said that it's been out for three weeks, as per the Amazon.com listed date. They're just hiding all copies from you, specifically. Also, they've decided that instead of publishing Dragonlance products, they're going to focus on bringing back another of the "left behind" 2nd Edition settings - Planescape.

Margaret Weis herself has stated that the decision was primarily to "Let Dragonlance die". There was also something about "It's been living in a vegetative state for too long, and needed to be released into the sweet embrace of death."

They're hoping to have the Planescape Campaign Setting core book done by GenCon. They'd wanted to keep it a suprise, but I'm just too much of a blabber mouth. Sorry Margaret.

Next on the docket after PCS will be their next project "The Complete Guide to Flumphs and Other Maligned Creatures". Hopefully the mechanics will be as sound as the Flumphs are soft. Delicious, delicious Flumphs. Mmm.

Finally, before the year is out, you *will* see a copy of "Dragonlance Elseworlds"; the final Dragonlance Book that will ever be written. It will be the definitive guide to all the fan-fiction ideas all over the internet. Ever wanted to see what Raistlin would be like as a White Robe? Dalamar as the Favored Son of Paladine? Caramon as a swashbuckling ne'er-do-well? Sturm as a petty thug? Kitiara as a chaste and loving person? Minotaurs on iceskates? Look no further than DLEW! Coming to stores near you this November. Perfect for that hard to shop for gamer on your list.

Also, if you believe the above, I have a lovely oceanfront cottage in scenic Iowa that I'd be willing to sell to you for a near rock-bottom cost.

Seriously, if you haven't heard anything, assume it's still tied up at the printers or with WotC. The book hasn't been cancelled, Dragonlance isn't dying, the world isn't ending, and there's no team of ATF agents snooping through your garage.

If you would like to know more about the future of Dragonlance, I would suggest checking out the Prestige Classes on the Dragonlance Nexus. There's at least 15 books worth of material on there that should satisfy some of your curiosity. Interested in the Legion of Steel? Check out the Legion Barmaid PrC; for all those busty wenches that secretly work to undermine those who would harm the ideals of the Legion. (http://dlnexus.com/fan/rules/15709.aspx)
