#1zombiegleemaxMay 31, 2006 9:14:02 | I am using clerics of both these gods in my Slaver series campaign within the Gnarley Forest and wondered if any of you have seen any sort of good information about the two. I have read up on Beltar and her many different descriptions in books such as the Scarlet Brotherhood, the LGG, and even the Complete Divine. Grolantor has thus far eluded me. I can only find his portfolio, domains, etc. in the Complete Divine. I was also curious if the two have any relics (any magic items named after them) mentioned or important NPC's other than the Beltar cleric from the Pomarj (I think in Elredd). |

#3MortepierreMay 31, 2006 10:44:37 | These are all the sources I'm aware of for Grolantor: - Complete Divine (3.5e) - Defenders of the Faith (3.0e) - On Hallowed Ground (2e) - Giantcraft (2e/FR) - DMGR4 Monster Mythology (2e) - Deities & Demigods (1e) Personally, I would go with DMGR4 as its text is a good summary. Of course, he isn't strictly GHish but as an old timer of the pantheon of giants, methink he has his place here (if only because GH is supposedly the "core" world) |

I have a trail now that will help me with Grolantor. Too bad there isn't more on Beltar. Eh, no problem. I'm always glad to help (more often than not by using JZ's index :P ) whenever the true GH sages such as Grodog are caught slumbering in their lair :D I trust you're aware of the article on (among other Suel gods) Beltar in Dragon issue #89 by Len Lakofka? It's strictly 1e but has a few useful pieces of info if you don't own any of the GH boxed sets. |
#6zombiegleemaxJun 06, 2006 14:58:38 | Thanks for the heads up on the Dragon #89 issue. I've been a 'hawker since 1980 so the only Greyhawk material I don't own is Vecna Lives (will get it on ebay when the price is right). Yes Grodog is probably the most knowledgeable person visiting this messageboard frequently. Once again thanks for your help Mort. |
