So here's the big question: How would the events of Cerulean Storm have been different if Agis had lived? What if Tithian died instead? What if they both lived? What if they both died? I have some thoughts of my own, but I'd like to hear other people's opinions first. |

I think the first question that would need answering before adressing "what if Agis lived" is "how did he survive". At which point could the PCs save Agis from his fate of being back stabbed by Tithian and then sinking beneath the Sea of Silt? |

As I have it planned now, events in the Obsidian Oracle occur pretty much as written, up until the final "battle" between Agis and Tithian. The way I see it, I'll give the PCs an opportunity at that point to alter events, and potentially save Agis. Whether they can potentially kill Tithian and/or recover the Lens is up in the air still. I'm leaning towards no, but it's a possibility. |

Perhaps Sadira dies due to trying to protect Agis during the final battle in the Valley of Dust & Fire. This in turn could lead to Rajaat not being re-imprisoned. Later on, Agis may find out that he was meant to buy it and with the help of the PCs begin a quest to find a way set the time line right (i.e. travel back in time to the point where he was meant to die in the Obsidian Oracle). Granted, this is very Star Trekish, but I've always been a fan of time-traveling/divergent- time-line adventures ;) |

I think people should just pick a timeline and stick to it. It's been a long time since I read the pentad. I remember a fight with an Athasian bear but don't remember the specifics of how Agis bought it. Anyways there was a concept called the great continuity of time or something like that which was introduced with some of the time travel powers. The basic idea is that whatever is going to happen will likely happen, even if you alter time. For instance, if someone went back in time and killed Kalak, someone else would just have become a champion in his stead. So likely Agis would have just died in the battle in the Valley of Dust and Fire. Alternatively, your PCs could recover the body and take him for a resurrection. If they could find someone who could perform such a feat. |
#7SysaneJun 14, 2006 13:28:53 | You could always have it that Agis just appeared to die in the Obsidian Oracle. It could be that he miraculously survived (off camera) and was bogged down with other matters which precluded him from participating in the events of the Cerulean Storm.(i.e. Boba Fett being pulled from the sarlac by Dengar). |
