It is what is spec'd by the HW material, and sometimes people (me included) tend to overthink ability modifiers for races. Many times being good or bad in something is really a function of a skill, rather than being a function of a much broader ability score modifier. Hutakaans are certainly haughty and arrogant, and deserving of a penalty to Diplomacy checks. However, clipping Charisma also hurts their turning ability if a cleric (their favored class), and would significantly reduce the chance that anyone would play them as a sorceror (which there is no reason to believe Hutakaans couldn't be one). In short, ability modifiers paint with a very broad stroke and sometimes more fine brush works better. Just mt 2 cents.
#3 zombiegleemax Jun 28, 2006 11:46:43	I agree with the last post. -2str and +2 wis from the HW sounds about right. I think a penelty to diplomacy when dealing with races other than their own would be more accurate. Maybe even a penalty of sense motive or bluff. I could see a bonus to knowledge religion as well tho.
