#1flindbarJun 27, 2006 8:28:47 | The Golden Kank Just thought you'd all like to have a shuffty at the latest update on Urik's finest tavern. :D f. |
#2zombiegleemaxJun 27, 2006 8:38:50 | I loved the menu. (Do they do an all-you-can-eat buffet? And can I bring my mekillot? :D ) but I'm thrilled to now find a history section and other information. Hamanu's palace looks a bit big though in relation to the rest of Urik, where do they fit in all the beggars? |
#3kalthandrixJun 27, 2006 8:46:38 | What! No halfling kabob? The way I see it, this would be fair game seeing as how they would eat you at the first opportunity they had! Kidding - Love the material flindbar! Thanks for the added flavor! |
#4squidfur-Jun 28, 2006 15:42:19 | Hamanu's palace looks a bit big though in relation to the rest of Urik, Actually, as stated many times over in the source material, Destiny's Kingdom (aka Hamanu's Palace) is significantly larger in scale than Urik-proper. However, the rest of his map is entirely inaccurate, as far as general layout. First impressions tells me that not a single part of the map is placed correctly according to the source materials. |

I blame Matlu the beggar ! Damn his stumpy leg ! ;) I'm sorry for the inaccuracies Squidfur. The starting point was a map found at Xlorep's website if memory serves. (I could be wrong - I can't remember) old map of urik I would very much like to produce a correct one and I would value any input you might have. f. |
#6PennarinJun 28, 2006 16:25:30 | Someone once posted a huge listing of ALL mentions of infrastructure for several cities for which we have no maps. Urik was in there, as was Balic and maybe Draj. Could it have been David Tisch? |
#7squidfur-Jun 28, 2006 18:49:15 | think you're refurring to the compilations of Urik, Balic, and Raam's cartography info. :D indeed that was some useful information. it can all be found under posts by Cyrus |
#8flindbarJun 29, 2006 6:49:17 | think you're refurring to the compilations of Urik, Balic, and Raam's cartography info. :D Found it ! Wow !!!! Cyrus certain put a lot of work into that one. Anyone (inc. Cyrus) know if he managed to compile an actual map from that lot ? f. |
#9darksoulmanJun 29, 2006 6:53:03 | Found it ! Care to share the link? |
#10flindbarJun 29, 2006 7:00:09 | Care to share the link? As squidfur said - just do a google search on the "boards1.wizards.com" domain for Cyrus9a and Urik and up it will pop ! I can email it to you if you would prefer or i guess i can just post it here or in another thread. Just give me a yell. f. |
#11flindbarJun 29, 2006 7:08:09 | Yeesh that was a dumb reply ! Here is the link :D http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=301667 f. |
#12squidfur-Jun 29, 2006 17:53:34 | Found it ! Well, the info found on Raam was used to form the map that's found in Dregoth Ascending. Unfortunately, Cyrus was unable to finish the others before he was involved in the accident that took his life. I know, for certain, that he had begun work on a map of Urik, as I was funneling him information on that City-State - so as to help keep it as accurate as possible. As for Balic, I'm fairly certain that it was never begun. Dawnstealer - whereever has he been?? - did an excellent map of his own for Balic... I'll have to look around for it, or just wait for someone else to post the link. It does have a few minor inaccuracies, but for the most part, it's really well done. |
#13darksoulmanJun 30, 2006 3:46:51 | Yeesh that was a dumb reply ! Thanks, much appreciated Googling the WotC boards can be a bit of a hassle...but of course, Cyrus + Urik would probably have done it pretty easy. Oh well, lazy me |
#14zombiegleemaxJun 30, 2006 6:05:33 | Forgive me for asking, but is googling the best way to track down info and threads on the boards? I've tried using the WotC search engine (which was crap) and looking for some kind of index. I ask coz I'd like to dig up some great stuff that I didn't copy down from the boards, like the knights of the cleansing wars and some setting ideas on necrovorous or corpse eating underground dwarves of the Anattan wastes(!). Plus to get updates from those who worked on these... |

Plus to get updates from those who worked on these... The best (and only) way to search for stuff on the boards is to use the advanced search function on google. You need to specify the domain as "boards1.wizards.com". I wish WotC would sort out the search function on the boards but we've all been saying that for what seems like years !! The other way (if you already know what you're looking for) is to use the excellent archive thread at the top of the forum. Its maintained by Pennarin and is a repository of links to material generated by members of this community. f. |
#16kalthandrixJun 30, 2006 7:26:09 | Tyklyk-yll-tyk - Check my signature for the knights of the cleansing - I will be posting the revised version tonight - so if you wait until like tomorrow then you will have the most current version. |
#17zombiegleemaxJun 30, 2006 7:57:44 | Thanks Flindbar & Kal! I read up the knights and later had some afterthoughts on what I think would be cool ways to include them in the post-Prism pentad and even a 'Paizo' timescale! |
#18squidfur-Jun 30, 2006 16:32:04 | ...and some setting ideas on necrovorous or corpse eating underground dwarves of the Anattan wastes(!). WHAT!!! when in the he!! was this? Did anyone copy this? I want that info...PLEEEEEEEEASE :D |
#19zombiegleemaxJul 03, 2006 4:54:15 | WHAT!!! when in the he!! was this? Did anyone copy this? I want that info...PLEEEEEEEEASE :D It was my first thread, (sniff and fond rememberance), and I wrote a grand total of 8 words! which promted a great response from Greyorm, who has since taken offense I think at something I wrote recently about Oronis Nevertheless, I have found Greyorm's ideas amazing, and one fed my ideas for the Knights of the Cleansing (see that current thread). Thanks to Flindbar, I located the thread and some outline info on these indeed necrovorous secretive dwarves in the archives at: http://boards1.wizards.com/archive/index.php/t-529958.html and Greyorm, please do give us more! |
#20flindbarJul 03, 2006 5:43:11 | Thanks to Flindbar, I located the thread and some outline info on these indeed necrovorous secretive dwarves in the archives at: You're welcome. Necrovorous dwarves eh !?!?! Cool :D |
#21flindbarJul 04, 2006 9:29:38 | More updates to the Kank completed. Minor revisions to history. More maps added - first floor and cellar / temple level. f |
