Jun 30, 2006 6:46:28 Hey all,
I've got a quandry, I'm participating in a DS game shortly and the DM wants everyone to start at level 4, I plan on playing a psychic warrior with a couple levels as a templar from Gulg. What would you say is the best way to pull this off? And how should I play it? I'll probably be a mul, but that could change based on suggestions.

Jun 30, 2006 7:18:16 He'll be a Gulgian Templar with a splash of Psychic Warrior gathering intel on Tyr after the events in the Pentand (I think at least, if this results in my Sorcerer Queen being dead, I'm sure I can pick another city or something)

Jun 30, 2006 7:30:56 If your DM uses the local languages - always cast your spells or call upon the Oba in your native language. Take bluff to disguise your spellcasting and the feats like still and silent spell. Unless you actually say you are casting a spell, which I would avoid, people may just assume you are using psionics or you have levels as a wizard. Say you are "manifesting a power" and stuff - unless you do something silly - the characters in the game could remain oblivious to your affiliation to the Oba!

Jun 30, 2006 7:37:46 excellent, I was thinking of doing that, but I hadn't thought of the native tongue thing...and silent spell....This guy will shape up nicely.

Second thing, do you think I should forgo being a mul and perhaps switch to human?

Jun 30, 2006 10:45:16 Human would be better, as humans make up the majority of templars in most cities. Also, you get the bonus feat, which could hlp with what you are doing. Sorry, but I just don't see muls as templars, they just don't seem to have the stuff for me. Clerics or Druids, sure, but not templars.
