Ok, so I was wondering if my thoughts were correct...

* Anything that had been previously published by TSR/WotC cannot be posted, such as "A Little Knowledge" (both the short story and the adventure that follows)

* If I had converted the adventure, "A Little Knowledge", I couldn't give it to other people that requested it

* Anything that is created/posted on Athas.org is owned jointly by Athas.org and WotC

Its should be quite clear that I intend on converting "A Little Knowledge", however, I want to know if I could spread the love. If someone already has converted it, and it is alright to share it... may I have a copy? :D

I do seem to recall having seen someone's notes about A Little Knowledge floating about the boards a while back - can't remember whose, though...

As for the legality, you are allowed to post your conversion notes for general release, but you're only permitted to post the mechanics and stats, not the descriptions, fluff and actual adventure writeup. So you could post stats for Tuga-Dai, methelinoc, the kluzd etc etc but not the actual descriptions of what happens at the oasis or in the ruined tower. In other words, someone would still need a copy of the actual adventure to make use of your conversion. And, if you posted your conversion on a site other than this one, you should also include an accurate copy of the Open Gaming License at the end of the conversion notes.

Enworld has a fairly sizeable library of conversion of 1e and 2e adventures where people have done exactly this. They also have copies of the guidelines and rules issued by WotC for presenting conversions. Take a look at those for an idea on how to present your conversion while staying within the alloweed boundaries:
Enworld Conversion Library.
WotC Rules and Guidelines for Conversions.

Good luck!
