A great statue come to life blocks the way threateningly. It looks like a dwarf warrior clad in splint mail, all formed of dark granite. It raises an enormous axe and challenges you in a gravelly voice. |

#3the_stalkerJul 05, 2006 22:27:49 | Cool! We're actually playing the Clan War in my campaign right now. I wish I'd had that picture a few weeks ago, when Denwarf crawled out of a hole in the ground. That said, it may not be Denwarf, though it sure looks like him. I seem to recall a large dwarf-proportioned golem-creature described in the monsters-section of the "Axe of Dwarvish Lords" adventure, right at the end. I think this might be it, though I do not recall the actual name of the creature (and I don't have access to the adventure now). Does anyone remember? |
#4havardJul 06, 2006 7:22:32 | Good catch Andrew! The Dwarf Ancestor is certainly a good basis for running up some stats for Denwarf. I'm thinking Denwarf should be more powerful than this though, at least in his fully cured form. The scenario from the Rockhome gaz presents him as a Rock Golem only IIRC so I guess a CR6 Outsider would be alright. But I like to think that he would be more powerful if he is cured of his madness. Then we could have other Dwarf Ancestors as well, perhaps the founders of each clan etc? And what about Morigswerg Ancestors? :evillaugh Havard |

CR 6 is definitely low, since he is described as having 15 HD in Gaz6. I actually sat down and started looking at ways to stat him after posting this. In the end, I thought maybe he might work better as a Dwarf Living Construct Fighter 15 (a modification of the Warforged, essentially, except a flesh/stone combo rather than a metal/wood combo). I do like the Ancestor Dwarf's morale boost, though, and could see Denwarf possibly having some spell-like abilities as well (even though the Gaz6 version doesn't have those). And what about Morigswerg Ancestors? :evillaugh Hmm... Mold Golems, maybe? |

( an avenge againist tha Everast??? ) ;) |

The Flesh/Stone Construct is an interesting idea, but I think Denwarf definately should be an Outsider. Spell-like abilities are definately appropriate. Hmm... Mold Golems, maybe? The Dusanu come to mind. Any connection there? Havard |
