#1grodogAug 08, 2006 23:29:41 | http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19261 is a Dragonsfoot poll about whether folks would ever possibly be interested in buying a CD of scans of the original levels of Castle Greyhawk. I thought some folks here might consider chiming in, given that some of us have been waiting about 30 years for the Castle :D |

I thought some folks here might consider chiming in, given that some of us have been waiting about 30 years for the Castle :D Probably not, at least not at the prices suggested on the DF poll. No slight on EGG, I just don't find paying $50 or more for a collection of random dungeon maps all that appealing. If the price was considerably lower, or if it turns out there are a lot more encounter notes, descriptions, unreleased monsters/treasures/npcs, etc included, I'd definitely consider it. Now, what I would gladly cough up $50 or more for is a cd compilation of DW magazine pdfs, how about that? :D |

#4grodogAug 09, 2006 18:10:22 | Thanks for the input guys! @ Rich - have you emailed Tadashi recently about your interest in a DW archive? :D |
#5zombiegleemaxAug 10, 2006 9:27:12 | This seems incredibly lazy to me. Why not go to a noted cartographer like Mr. Christopher West and pay him to create new maps from the original? Publish a book or put it up for paid download, I am sure such a product would make decent money. |
#6grodogAug 10, 2006 16:22:35 | The intent here is to see if there would be interest in the historical documents themselves---there's certainly nothing stating that a published book with professionally rendered maps couldn't also be published. |
#7zombiegleemaxAug 11, 2006 15:35:39 | Forgive my jaded interjection then. ;) Knowing Gary's disdain for various rule versions -- a nice set of maps and a brief description of what he envisioned on the various levels would certainly be worth $50+ it could even be electronic only if publishing cost is a factor. Something like that sounds very cool. |
