In my own campaign Rajaat did not create his Champions on his first attempt. His first attempted created beings who would become known as the Hands of Rajaat. While powerful, Rajaat saw immedaitely they strong enough to accomplish his goals. For his second attempt he refined his technique and began to use the Dark Lens and his Champions were created. Idealy suited for his war against the Rebirth races, Rajaat continued to refine his techniques and eventually came up with the Chosen, a being who would rid Rajaat of his Champions and the human race so that finally the Rebirth would be undone.

These templates are based almost entirely upon Athas.org's Champion of Rajaat template. They've been scaled a bit to represent the three levels and tweaked here and thier to fit better with my own skewed idea of Athas. I've submitted them here for the community to review and use. These are my first real attempt at templates so any help would be greatly appreciated. I may add a Lens Connection to the Champion and Chosen templates to back up my views on Sacha and Wyan and add in some immunites or abilities I've thought about such as Champions unable to harm each other.

Hand of Rajaat

A Hand of Rajaat has all the base creature’s statistics and special abilities, except as noted here.

Hit Dice: A Hand of Rajaat always has maximum hit points.

Special Attacks: A Hand of Rajaat retains all the base creature’s special attacks and gains those described below. Save DCs are equal to 10 + ½ Hand of Rajaat’s HD unless otherwise noted.

Signature Spells (Sp): A Hand of Rajaat chooses one spell of each level 1st through 5th. These chosen spells become that Hand of Rajaat’s signature spells. The Hand of Rajaat can channel stored spell
energy into signature spells that the Hand of Rajaat did not prepare ahead of time The Hand of Rajaat can “lose” any prepared spell in order to cast one of these signature spells that is of the same spell level as the prepared spell or lower (just like a cleric can lose prepared spells in order to cast cure spells of the same level or lower.)

Special Qualities: A Hand of Rajaat retains all the base creature’s special qualities and gains those described below.

Damage Reduction (Su): A Hand of Rajaat has damage reduction 10/magic.

Immortality (Ex): All champions of Rajaat are naturally immortal and cannot die from natural causes. Champions of Rajaat do not age, and they do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe. The only way for a Hand of Rajaat to die is through special circumstances, usually by being slain in magical or physical combat.

Immunities (Ex): Champions of Rajaat are immune to disease and poison, stunning, sleep, paralysis, death effects, disintegration, energy drain, ability drain, ability damage, polymorphing, petrification, or any other attack that alters its form. Immunities can voluntarily be lowered.

Regeneration (Ex): A Hand of Rajaat has regeneration 5. Cold and sonic effects deal normal damage to a Hand of Rajaat. If a Hand of Rajaat loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 3d6 days. The Hand of Rajaat can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump

Resistances (Ex): A champions of Rajaat has both spell resistance and power resistance 18.

Abilities: Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +2, Con +2, Int +2, Wis +2, Cha +2.

Challenge Rating: ??
Advancement: By character class.
Level Adjustment: ??

*I’m considering changing the signature spells to spell-like abilities to give Rajaat a reason for noncasting Hands to be chosen.

Champion of Rajaat

A Champion of Rajaat has all the base creature’s statistics and special abilities, except as noted here.

Hit Dice: A Champion of Rajaat always has maximum hit points.

Special Attacks: A Champion of Rajaat retains all the base creature’s special attacks and gains those described below. Save DCs are equal to 10 + ½ Champion of Rajaat’s HD + Champion of Rajaat’s Cha modifier unless otherwise noted.

Genocidal Focus (Su): Each Champion of Rajaat is created to slay all members of a designated race. Spells and powers that deal damage do +4d6 bonus damage against members of the designated race. Any weapon that a Champion of Rajaat wields in combat is considered a dread weapon against members of that designated race. The weapon loses this dread ability if the Champion of Rajaat ceases to wield it. Against members of the Champion of Rajaat’s designated race, the weapon’s effective enhancement bonus is +4 better than its normal enhancement bonus and it deals +4d6 points of bonus damage.

Magical Conversion (Sp): A Champion of Rajaat uses the Sorcerer class table for determining the number of spells known and cast per day. These spells do not need to be memorized each day. The Champion of Rajaat gains Arcane Preparation as a bonus feat and is considered to have the Eschew Materials feat for all spells cast.

Signature Spells (Sp): A Champion of Rajaat chooses one spell of each level 1st through 9th. These chosen spells become that Champion of Rajaat’s signature spells. The Champion of Rajaat’s signature spells do not count against his/her daily limit of spells.

Special Qualities: A Champion of Rajaat retains all the base creature’s special qualities and gains those described below.

Damage Reduction (Su): A Champion of Rajaat has damage reduction 10/epic.

Energy Storing (Su): Champions of Rajaat can store life energy from nearby creatures in psionically enchanted obsidian orbs. Gathering and storing energy is a full-round action that provokes an attack of opportunity. Creatures within 10 feet x ½ the Champion of Rajaat’s HD gain one negative level each round the Champion of Rajaat uses energy storing. For more information on energy storing and obsidian orbs, see the section “Orb of Energy Storing”.

Immortality (Ex): All champions of Rajaat are naturally immortal and cannot die from natural causes. Champions of Rajaat do not age, and they do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe. The only way for a Champion of Rajaat to die is through special circumstances, usually by being slain in magical or physical combat.

If a Champion of Rajaat loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 3d6 minutes. The Champion of Rajaat can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump

Resistances (Ex): A champions of Rajaat has both spell resistance and power resistance 32.

Abilities: Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +4, Con +4, Int +4, Wis +4, Cha +4.

Challenge Rating: Same as the base creature +6?
Advancement: By character class.
Level Adjustment: Same as the base creature +8?

*This is basically Athas.org’s Champion template. The only changes were the addition of the Magical Conversion and a modification of the Signature Spells to better mesh with Magical Conversion. The Addition was made to allow the SMs increased latitude and power in spellcasting. CR and LA probably need to be adjusted to compensate though.

Challenge Rating: Same as the base creature ??
Advancement: By character class.
Level Adjustment: Same as the base creature ??

*I’m considering a Duel Genocidal Focus so humans could be a second focus for Hamanu. I’ve also added Touch of Rajaat so that it’s easier for him to kill a Champion and granted increased immunities to make him harder to kill. I’m not sure about his Damage Reduction though and his increased damage and regeneration may be a bit overpowered.

Nice work. I had a similar concept but made it into a three level PrC a while ago. Check the link beneath my signature if you're interested.

I saw that before but I felt that Rajaat would have atempted to infuse his greatest warriors with even more power. I have used the PrC for both Irikos and a rather nasty kaisharga from the Cleansing Wars. She had been assigned by Irikos to hunt down a specific preserver for discovering a powerful spell but before she could kill him he passed the spell on to his apprentice, a practice carried out by each preserver down the line until present day and guess who had the misfortune to be trained by one of those line?

I saw the PrC as more a dedicated preserver hunter then anything else and sorta nicked it for a small cadre of specially trained hunters led by Irikos.

Fair enough. I play Irokos off that he has the Hand of Rajaat PrC along with an immortal template of some sort. The exact nature of that template hasn't been really worked out in great detail in my campaign figuring that the PC won't be anywhere near the level they would need to be in order to face off with the Left Hand of Rajaat.
