Historically what has gone on? Is Raajat dead? What about the the 7 sorcerer kings, the Dragon and others? Avangions? Dregoth? What is going on on Athas? |

As far as what has been happening since, look at the sticky thread the forum archvie for more info. Read these boards for more info. There is quite a lot. On another note. Your sig is quite long, and could be seen as a source of contraversy. While I am all for freedom of speech, I don't think that a sig like that is proper for these boards as it has nothing to do with the content here. You might want to use a link to that quote if you still want to use it. |

Haven't had any problems with my sig thus far...if there is a problem I will change it... So there never was an official 3rd ed. boxed set? it was just put together by die hard Dark Sun fans on the web only? |
#4kalthandrixOct 02, 2006 11:03:27 | The material made by Athas.org is 100% official - they have the permission from Wizards to create material under their copyright licnese for Dark Sun - so it is just as official as the 2e material that was sold, but it is all free (another condition). As for 3.0 material - some of the material that Athas.org has made was for 3.0, but has since been converted to 3.5 to adhere to the latest rule set. So no there was never a boxed set for DS that came out in 3rd edition, but as I have said above, the fact that this is all web based and free does not mean it is lacking in "official"-ness. The material here on this message board is not official material, it is all fan made. There are a few cases where material was orginally created and posted here, but it will be or is now, in an official product for Athas.org - like many of the prestige classes made posted here may be coming out in a new Prestige Class Appendix II - after they have passed my inspection and then the official review of the Senate at Athas.org. Dregoth appears in the adventure serier called "Dregoth Ascending parts I-III" (I have also made a conversion of him - check my sig) along with several other SKs. Rules for the Champions of Rajaat, Dragon metamorphosis, Avangion metamophosis, and such can all be found at Athas.org - all converted to and up to dat with the 3.5 rules and Epic material. Hope this helps - and welcome to the Dark Sun board - we do not eat the new people here - well...not always :D |
#5cnahumckOct 02, 2006 11:14:37 | Yup, all the current stuff on athas.org is fan driven and written. and if it is in the releases section it is "official." The sig could be seen as offensive, since you are saying that those with religious beliefs suffer from mental illness. While I do NOT want to create a huge flamewar or debate, I just wanted to let you know that it could be taken the wrong way. Similar to if someone had something in their sig that said that Islam is the only true faith, or that people in same gender relationships will burn in hell for their sins. The darksun forums tend to be (in my experience) one of the nicest on the net. Everyone here is interested in furthering the development the gaming world and while there has been disagreements, flamewars are typically avoided by regulars and die out quickly. regardless, welcome to the boards. enjoy your stay on athas, and avoid the cati, as they will eat you first. Edit: and Kal beat me to it. |
