The first entry on signature spells is a cut/paste from the PHB cleric entry on spontaneous spellcasting. The reference there to channelling "stored spell energy" isn't a reference to the Champion ability - it's a reference to spontaneous casting: A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that the cleric did not prepare ahead of time. The section on storing energy in obsidian orbs isn't talking about the same thing. It might have been clearer if it called it "Life Energy", so that there would be no confusion with stored spell energy, but there doesn't seem to be anything missing as far as I can tell. |

However the language is pretty unclear. Signature Spells are actually an idea we brought i from Deities & Demigods, if memory serves, so it tends to use language similar to that book. The energy storing ability is a mechanic we made for the Champions of Rajaat -- it is something that on the surface, seems like it should be a Dragon ability, except that the 2e books state that it actually is the province of the Champions of Rajaat, not them being Dragons. |
