I had long ago, and recently re-aquired, the Carnival Book, co-authored by John W. Mangrum.

I absolutely love it and think it is one of the most original RL ideas and domains. I plan on incorporating it into some existing campaigns but am soliciting advice, ideas and other cool little Carnie tidbits.

Anyone have additonal effects of the Twisting?

Any other 'Acts' or Abominatons?

Since John frequently posts here maybe has some stuff from the cutting room floor.

One of the issues of Quoth the Raven had a little and I plan on using some of it as well.

I believe the issue is number 2, but don't quote me on that!

Yes, I believe that it was the Book of Secrets that had an article detailing additional Carnival members. If memory serves me correct, the article was written by John and was entitled Carnival: The Ballyhoo.

Yeah, I know that you asked us not to quote you... ;) However, if you are referring to Quoth the Raven, then the issue would be number 3 (which has a collection of articles concerning the Carnival).

The Mordent Cartographic society web site also has interesting addition for Carnival.

The only thing I wrote for Carnival that never made it into print in some fashion was a trouper called Pharoah Rottentop, a fake mummy I cut early on for space. However, Rottentop's central adventure hook later beame the basis of Jameld of Hroth's Dread Possibility in Van Richten's Arsenal.

I checked that stuff out, though it isn't all very consistent with the published version of the Carnival. That's because most or all of the stuff was created before the book actually made it to the shelves.

However, the game mechanics can easily be taken care of but the ideas are really what I was looking for. Thanks for the help.

The biggest thing I guess I am looking for are more potential effects of the Twisting. It is always hard to get PC's to bare their souls so you can get some insight into their Character's uh character. So with more diverse Twisting effects, other than what is published, I can more easily fit certain effects to the known tidbits of PC's inner selves.

No one has any other thoughts about the Twisting?

I would appreciate some alternative effects.
