#1zombiegleemaxNov 10, 2006 9:15:27 | I totally didn't even realize that this forum was here! I'm running the new Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, and I was so inspired that I wanted to create my own custom introduction for my players. I had to, I think, because the game went from 10AM to 4PM, and that's just not very spooky. Anyway, you can watch it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExdgxegBq14 If you like it, please rate it! |
#2gonzoronNov 10, 2006 10:10:27 | wow... I thought I went overboard sometimes. Now I can show this to my players and show them I'm not so crazy. ;) Very nice... |

#5zombiegleemaxNov 10, 2006 13:22:45 | That's pretty cool Thanks, man! |
#6gottenNov 10, 2006 13:34:55 | What software did you use? Where did you take the images / films? Joël |
#7zombiegleemaxNov 10, 2006 14:57:32 | What software did you use? Where did you take the images / films? I used After Effects, Zaxwerks, Illustrator, Photoshop and Apple Pro Motion. The images are all stock photography, save for the letter, which I made myself. The music is copyrighted, but when you're not planning to make a profit, and you don't use too much, no one cares. It's just a little fan film, anyway. I did the VO, myself, and used Soundtrack to mix it down. I'm a broadcast designer, so it puts me in a rather unique position to do this. I'm using the Eberron soundtrack to score the next one. That will make things more fun for Wizards. |
#8zombiegleemaxNov 10, 2006 17:23:36 | I also am pretty damn impressed. It reminded of the old Castlevania video games for Nintendo about 10-15 years ago. Very, very nice job. |
#9zombiegleemaxNov 10, 2006 18:58:01 | And you know what? Ravenloft SHOULD play like Castlevania. It's totally written that way. The SNES Castlevania was a real source of inspiration on this project. Thanks for noticing. I also am pretty damn impressed. |
#10Steel_RabbitNov 10, 2006 22:25:09 | That was intense...Good job, dude! |
#11darkorNov 13, 2006 7:46:16 | It reminded me of Castlevania SotN's intro. Man that video rock! |
#12zombiegleemaxNov 14, 2006 7:10:21 | I always just pass stuff like this over without a second glance, but a few names I recognize said good things, so... I took a look. Are you KIDDING? That was AWESOME! |
#13zombiegleemaxNov 15, 2006 16:44:28 | I always just pass stuff like this over without a second glance, but a few names I recognize said good things, so... I took a look. Who are the power players (names you recognize) who said good things? Did they say them to you in person? Where did you hear this if you didn't read the thread? I'm such a compliment ho ;) |
#14humanbingNov 15, 2006 18:53:10 | That's really, really incredible. I'll be emailing the Youtube link to my players when they get onto the campaign adventure! Good work, man! Ravenloft needs more dedicated gamers and creative folk like you! |
#15darkorNov 16, 2006 21:14:23 | btw, where's that music from? want it for my MotRD campain! >_< |
#16zombiegleemaxNov 17, 2006 11:06:23 | btw, where's that music from? want it for my MotRD campain! >_< It comes from Arjuna OST 1. "Into the Another World" is the name of the album, which is hilarious. The song title is equally funny: "Feel the Circle." However, I have found so many wonderful songs on that soundtrack, and I highly recommend it to any DM. |
#17gonzoronNov 20, 2006 11:24:37 | Hope you don't mind, this weekend, I tried to pass this off as my own two 3 of my players, as a joke. 2 acutally fell for it before I burst out laughing. 1 had aready seen it on youtube. I'm actually a bit frightened that they thought I was capable of it. One said, "It's not the craziness or dedication that I doubt, it's just the video editting skills. If I knew you had experience with tools like that, I'd totally believe you did it." I'm not sure if that's a compliment... ;) Anyway, excellent work... |
#18hurrichocobo_dupNov 20, 2006 13:01:11 | Great work! Amazing stuff man. Keep it up. |
#19zombiegleemaxNov 20, 2006 16:01:43 | HAHAHAHAHA! Oh, my god! Thank you for that wonderful story! That's hilarious that one had already seen it on YouTube. Just remember, if you're not selling it, I don't care if you want to claim it as your own. Also, was he saying I'm crazy? Cause I'll cut him. I'll cut him good. ;) Hope you don't mind, this weekend, I tried to pass this off as my own two 3 of my players, as a joke. 2 acutally fell for it before I burst out laughing. 1 had aready seen it on youtube.
