However, Iuz has only been a threat for about a quarter century - exempting a rauckus decade or two at the turn of the century. Have the knights have lost their previous abilities and gained new ones to square against Iuz? |

I think they've decided to put their resources to training the new generation of knights to specifically oppose the Old One. Older generations wouldn't have lost their different abilities, but they would see the sense in creating a generation of Iuz-hunters. Probably there are still a few Knights of Veluna who remember the old lore, who can carry this knowledge to future generations once the threat of Iuz has passed (if it ever passes), but it's not necessary for everyone to remember it. The Knights of Veluna understand their priorities. There's no reason a knighthood has to continue to train its initiates in the exact same skills the knighthood taught when it was founded. Note also that "Strike at the Heart of the Old One" works equally well against minions of Nerull, Hextor, and Tharizdun. |
