#1zombiegleemaxDec 28, 2006 7:33:44 | Hello. Is there any resources that tell what the results of the Test of High Sorcery are? I was wondering what exactly could happen to the wizard in question that takes the test? I know what happend to Raistlin, but are there results that resemble what happend to Raist, meaning the shattered body, not the hourglass eyes (as these are the result of Fistandautilus' medling in his test)? |

About the only real thing we know about those types of changes are that they are usually a wound or injury that occured during the test that will not heal correctly and is meant to remind the wizard of some lesson. For instance if a wizard could have used a rope bridge to cross a ravine but unstead decided to create an ice bridge instead and did not have the spell to be used later at a second bridge and the wizard was injured in the process of crossing that 2nd ravine the wizard might remain wounded later on after the test. In order to remind the wizard that using magic should not always be the first answer and that it must be used wisely and only when you really need to. Now according to the Towers of High Sorcery sourcebook this type of change only occurs if the wizard goes through a soulforge experience during the test. As far as the rewards of the test they are explained in the Towers of High Sorcery sourcebook. Where it explains that the more a wizard risks the more they gain, one can gain a magic item, a bonus feat, and posibly an increase in Int. One thing I am still unclear about is this: every wizard who takes the test is rewarded with a permanent magic if they survive. Now If one takes the WoHS PRC it states that the wizard gains a item of pwer (a magic item) is this a second magic item or are they referring to the item that the wizard gains for completion of the test? |

(if desired and if the Preq's are met) Its listed in the PrC because not every campaign starts at 1st level. One that starts at 6 or 7 would likly have a wizard who has already past the test. |
