#1zombiegleemaxFeb 05, 2007 1:06:02 | Many years ago, there was a mighty templar of Balic named Vittius. Vittius was in command of the sorcerer king’s army and led them in many great battles against the barbarian tribes of the desert. Part of his bodyguards, was a soldier by the name of Kuron, a freeman from Balic. Kuron’s job was special. Whenever Vittius dismounted his mount, Kuron was to run over, kneel down and become Vittius’ foot stool. Kuron was proud of his job. He did it everyday, never complained once. In the taverns, he’d often boast to his fellow body-guards of how important his position was. Once of his fellow men, questioned him. He said, “Kuron, if thy be so important and have such an important task, a task that a slave could fulfill, why are ye happy to be another man’s foot stool”? Kuron replied, “If I were not a man of Vittius, I would be not a beggar roaming the streets, full of want for food and drink. I would be sleeping in alleys. Being another man’s footstool, I get to travel and get two square meals a day. Plus I get shelter and a place to sleep. Also, I am paid. I am proud to be another man’s foot stool”. Vittius over heard his speech and the next day, Kuron was replaced as a foot stool by a slave. Vittius said to Kuron, “I will not have a man as proud as you as my foot stool. You are far better than that. You are promoted to my messenger”. Kuron was a loyal and proud messenger for Vittius, never failing. As the years went on, Kuron served his master well. Eventually, Vittius passed away of old age. Before Vittius passed away, he mentioned to his master, the sorcerer-king, of his loyal service. Kuron became the sorcerer-king’s servant and served him for many years. There is no death record for Kuron in over a century. However, every once and a while, an old servant of the sorcerer-king is said to occasionally look out into the warrens, then retreat back into the palace. |

He could just as easily be an Expert or Commoner from the description. The only thing that suggests Gladiator at all is the assertion that he is a bodyguard, but it would be nigh impossible to bodyguard someone while serving as their footstool and that is the only job he is specifically descibed as having. Also, just because you become a servant of a SK does not mean that you are a Templar. I am sure the Sorcerer Kings have many servants how are not templars. Wonderful story! But, what are the point of stats? |
