#1SysaneMar 04, 2007 17:01:57 | Would someone mind posting (or PMing me) White Wolf’s take on Strahd’s 3.5 attributes? I’m just looking for what WW has for his Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, and Chr scores? It would be greatly appreciated. |
#2hxhunterMar 04, 2007 20:12:35 | Here are the EtCR stats are: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20061006a&page=2 |
#3SysaneMar 04, 2007 20:16:24 | I've got those. I was hoping for the White Wolf ones. Can't see any harm in just listing his ability scores. Its not like I'm asking for his entire write-up or stat block. |
#4zombiegleemaxMar 05, 2007 7:11:24 | CON should be easy, "---", as he's (un)dead. |
#5SysaneMar 05, 2007 7:41:03 | CON should be easy, "---", as he's (un)dead. Wow, you'd think I was asking for someone's social security number ;) |
#6humanbingMar 05, 2007 8:11:41 | Where do the 3.5 stats even come up? The most up to date stats I have for Strahd are the 3.0 ones in the Gaz I. |
#7SysaneMar 05, 2007 8:21:09 | I thought those were 3.5? At this rate, I'd settle for his 3.0 ability scores. |
#8thanaelMar 05, 2007 13:51:41 | 26,20,-,20,17,18. |
#9SysaneMar 05, 2007 15:41:23 | Thank you. Much appreciated. |
#10MortepierreMar 05, 2007 16:12:56 | I thought those were 3.5? Nope. Strahd's stats from both Secrets of the Dread Realms and Gaz1 were 3.0. On a side note, his stats in the two books are different |
#11SysaneMar 05, 2007 21:08:18 | Nope. Strahd's stats from both Secrets of the Dread Realms and Gaz1 were 3.0. On a side note, his stats in the two books are different Which of the two did you find more accurate? |
#12MortepierreMar 06, 2007 3:08:23 | Which of the two did you find more accurate? Note that those stats differ only for Str/Dex. Int/Wis/Cha are rated the same in both cases. Physically speaking, impossible to say. I mean, it's not as if I could just walk up to Strahd and ask him to go though calisthenics in order to quantify his Str/Dex scores... :P From a logical point of view, I prefer his stats in SotDR because they don't make him unbeatable (though still a monstrous opponent). Alas, knowing how PC can be min/maxed these days, I've to admit that his Gaz1 stats probably are needed to give him a chance when facing certain groups. |
#13SysaneMar 06, 2007 8:42:21 | Thanks for the input I'm running EtCR and wanted to bulk up Strahd in order to make him a little more in line with RL canon. I ended up overhauling the wilderness fane mechanic to included higher stats and abilities of an ancient vampire. |
#14MortepierreMar 06, 2007 9:47:39 | Careful. A Strahd with the powers of an Ancient vampire from RL AND the powers of the fane may be an opponent requiring adventurers of a much higher level! I wouldn't want to go up against "canon" Strahd without a team made of lvl 11-12 adventurers. Add the fanes and even they would get a run for their money! |
#15SysaneMar 06, 2007 10:03:47 | Careful. A Strahd with the powers of an Ancient vampire from RL AND the powers of the fane may be an opponent requiring adventurers of a much higher level! I actually removed the fane powers and replaced them with the powers of an ancient vampire (I'm not that cruel). Here's the new breakdown of the wilderness fane powers: Mountain Fane: If Strahd's connection to the mountains is severed, his attributes become the following: Str:18, Dex:14, Int:20,Wis:17, Chr:13 |
#16kwdbladeMar 11, 2007 16:12:02 | Keep in mind that in the 3.0 Ravenloft game, Straud was CR 24. |
