The 2E psionics handbook says that no natives of Krynn have any psionic ability and those who do came from somewhere else (spelljamming ships, other planes, etc) but I haven't read anywhere that they don't or stop working there Actually, if they do work think of the havoc a high level psion could wreck on Krynn, it would be an alien force they'd be totally unprepared for. Mages mind's fry like eggs, dragon's mind's become apple sauce, etc. |

Stramgely enough though the new Taladas trilogy has them using psionic powers. Some elves show a talent for telepathy, so I don't think that psionics would have as much of an impact as one might believe. |

The psionics rules, however, are not supported by the current game products, so that particular way of handing telepathy, extrasensory perception, and mind blasts is not something that's used. Rather, we can explain those things with magic. Cheers, Cam |

#5darthsylverApr 12, 2007 8:41:50 | Only in how it is handled by the rules, which I believe is Cam's point. Psionics and mentalism are both abilities that affect a person's mind. |
#6DragonhelmApr 12, 2007 23:02:53 | This topic comes up enough that I wrote an article on it. Psionics in Dragonlance Enjoy! |
#7DragonhelmApr 13, 2007 12:02:58 | Sounds like shameless self promotion to me. No, it's just an article on how psionics might be used in Dragonlance. I'm just pointing it out. |

In 2E there was no such rule, psionics were automatically different, oil and water, detect magic doesn't detect psionics, and vice versa. A great wyrm red dragon would have no resistance to a disintegrate generated with psionics, just thier high saving throw. |
