#1richard_keithApr 12, 2007 20:15:38 | Greetings and Salutations unto thee denisons of Ravenloft. I dearly love the module "Ship of Horrors," and have thought about converting it to 3.5 so that some our our newer players can enjoy it. But alas, I am not very good at figuring out how to do the conversion. Has anyone else already converted this?? Or can help me through the process. Thanks Richard Keith |

Are you in a big hurry to convert the module? If you can wait a few months, much of the work will be done for you (mostly by me: it's my section to write). |
#3richard_keithApr 14, 2007 7:54:16 | Hello, No, I am not in a hurry. Abet I did promise some friends, I would have it ready by Origins. Several of us from around the country plan on getting together and having some fun. One of the things I love about the module is the ability to really role play it. Some of us old timers from version 1 have the mechanics too well memorized. Modules like this tend to make the rules go away if you know what I mean. I also work in Theater and tend to be rather theatrical when I DM. I am also a Medieval Reinactor. Both the highly creative side and the detail historical side tend to sometimes prevent me from actually finishing a module. Sorry, I ramble on. Richard Keith |
#4rotipherApr 14, 2007 15:15:33 | Origins 2007 is in early July, correct? I wouldn't count on the actual Nocturnal Sea netbook being out by then, but if you're really interested, I might be able to give you a "sneak peak" at the SoH-related portion, although not for a few weeks. (I've got a semester to wrap up and another Ravenloft project in the works.) |
#5anansiApr 14, 2007 18:13:33 | Even if you can't wait, it shouldn't be too hard. In terms of game stats, lebentod, snow golems and most of the other monsters are in Denizens of Dread, Meredoth can easily be converted but his CR would likely be at least 21 or 22 (I think 3rd Edition stats for him are in Secrets of the Dread Realms which would require a minor update to use in 3.5). The crew of the Endurance would all be low to mid-level commoners or warriors. Major NPCs on the ship would likely be experts or warriors with a level or two of fighter or rogue. The three ghosts would probably all be low level commoners with the rank one (maybe two) ghost template. |
#6john_w._mangrumApr 14, 2007 18:29:01 | We never got as far as statting Meredoth for 3.x. (Don't want folks to seek out Secrets of the Dread Realms for info that isn't there.) |

That would be great. (I've got a semester to wrap up and another Ravenloft project in the works.) As I teach myself, I understand.Only 8 more weeks till summer??> Rick |
#9rotipherApr 17, 2007 6:45:37 | A bit less for me. My college is on a 14-week schedule, which means it finishes a lot sooner than the public schools. OTOH, it makes things very busy toward the end; in fact, I'm giving an exam in 15 minutes. |
#10richard_keithJul 04, 2007 12:51:42 | Hello, Its almost Origins. Is there any chance I can get the sneak preview?? Thanks Richard Keith. Origins 2007 is in early July, correct? #11rotipherJul 05, 2007 15:36:03 | Sorry, I forgot! E-mail me and I'll send you Meredoth's (scary!) 3.5 stats, along with another little goodie you might have fun with. Be warned: you will not want to run the module with PCs of the recommended levels. This version of Meredoth will stomp them flat. {evil grin} |

Hello, Perhaps my Spam filter lost it, or you sent it when my hard drive died (dont ya hate that), but for what ever reason, I never found the email you were going to send. Could I trouble you to send the information again? Thanks Richard Keith |
#13rotipherNov 08, 2007 15:05:05 | Richard, Your profile won't let me e-mail you. I was waiting for you to send me an e-mail (rotipherfos@hotmailNOSPAM.com, just omit the NOSPAM) and tell me what address to send it to, but I didn't receive one. Rotipher |
