B-R, good luck at Great Lakes, at least you'll have decent weather this time of year; maybe some rain but not too bad. I'm from Chicago (unfortunately I don't live there any more) and this is probably the best time to be there. When I went to "Boot" it was Sep/Oct/Nov, I had all the seasons packed into 2 months, but I was used to it. Enjoy.
I will not always answer on all the threads because I don't have enough dragonlance knowledge and history. I learn from you guys.

Thanks man, I kinda can't wait to get to boot (I am sure I will feel otherwise while I am in lol) but from what I have heard I choose some of the best months to go aswell. My brother just graduated a month or so ago and he had to run in the snow all 8 weeks. That would suck!

I don't really have my rate yet. While I am in my A school I will figure out what my job will specificly be. I am enlisted to the Nuclear school and I will either be a Nuke ET, MM, or EM. Other then that I am an E-3 and should be an E-5 or E-6 by the time I get out of my C school. Yay!

How the heck long are your A & C Schools? Even going into boot @ E-3 it would still be 1.5 years to E-5 (unless you get early promote to E-4 out of A School for being 1st in class, but then it's still a year to 5) then 3 years to E-6 from the date you make 5. And that's all IF you make it on the first test every time. I hope the recruiters aren't overpromising you stuff.

I generally don't post that often, but prefer to watch and learn from those with a bit more knowledge than myself. Thanks for the posts Lance. Most of you guys probably don't realise the positive impact that you have just by discussing topics here. I try to contribute when I can, and interject questions when necessary.
I'll be around here for a while, its just my role is not always a vocal one. However, I'll raise my voice every now and again. I'd hate to be one of those who complains if something goes wrong but contributed nothing in the process.
Hope that wherever you're going there are like-minded individuals who can share a good tale and lend a hand.

Like Rath said, I will either be on a sub or a carrier. The U.S. Navy wouldn't waste their thousands and thousands of dollars teaching me to press buttons located by the Nuclear Turbines just to have me shot by an insurgent.... I hope. :D
