#1jewelprotectorJun 21, 2007 22:43:02 | As a long-time fan of DL, I jumped at the chance a while back to play in a Dl campaign when D&D 3.5 came out. I created a kender monk--and yes, possibly the only thing rarer than an evil kender is a lawful kender! (No, she wasn't afflicted, either--but the monks at the Carean Elian made certain she learned to be very careful about putting things back where she found them!) Anyway, Squirrel eventually fell in love--with a dwarf. Weirder yet, he learned to love her too. (He's a very unusual dwarf.) Assuming they can find a cleric who can keep a straight face, they plan on getting married as soon as he finishes with his squire-ship (squirehood, maybe?) and becomes a full-fledged Knight. So far, all the half-kender I've seen have been with humans. Could dwarves reproduce with kender? And what would the kids look like? Just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on this. |

#3talinthasJun 22, 2007 14:48:31 | according to the sidebar in Races of Ansalon, "There have been few known dwarf-kender children; most have been mentally unstable and prone to violence." (p.16) |

#5jewelprotectorJun 22, 2007 19:10:08 | according to the sidebar in Races of Ansalon, "There have been few known dwarf-kender children; most have been mentally unstable Hmm, maybe adoption, then... Which, actually, I could totally see. "Hey, honey, he followed me home. Can I keep him?" Since Squirrel is young enough that her wanderlust won't settle for quite some time yet, she could conceivably pick up orphans from all over Ansalon! Heck, just the reaction from the rest of the Knighthood would make it worth exploring in-game. It may not get them invited to many parties, but I can't imagine that either one would care. And Treymordin...don't knock it 'till you try it...;) |

#9jewelprotectorJul 04, 2007 22:03:39 | Um...no. Absolutely not. I think I'll stick with the adoption theme. (Actually, the player of the dwarf in question thought it was hilarious. Solamnic Knight goes out on a knightly quest, comes home and finds his darling wife has been on an adventure of her own and presents him with twins. One human and one half-elf. Or a minotaur. Or, possibly, a baby troll.) |
