They have some of thier divinity. The drow elf demi goddess Zinzerina got her divinity sort of like this, tricking a god of out of giving up some of his that she stole from him. And not all Birthright's god's are dead. |

They have some of thier divinity. The drow elf demi goddess Zinzerina got her divinity sort of like this, tricking a god of out of giving up some of his that she stole from him. The original gods of the birthright world died in the battle of mount Diesmaar (spelling?), but a hero rose to godhood to replace each. Except Azrai, I don't think he got replaced. I think he just got owned. Anyway, there are new gods in place, so in that sense, Birthright is a normal campaign world. The various regents of each domain are almost all blooded, meaning they bear bloodlines that are infused with the essence of one of the original gods that died. While this doesn't make the regents themselves gods, they do have special powers--similar to dragonmarks. Awnsheghlein and ehrsheghlein (again, spelling?): The awnshegh are creatures that absorbed a lot of the power of the dark god Azrai, and have undergone physical transformations. One, the Spider, was once a goblin chief, and is now a tauric goblin/spider. Another, the Gorgon, was the brother of one of the new gods, and has immense power. He looks like a big, powerful humanoid with horns (I'd love to see a D&D mini of this guy!). There are others less monstrous looking, and then there are ehrshegh, or good abominations. I think some of these might be closer to goodhood, because they have more potent bloodlines, but still, they're not gods. I think I've rambled long enough, so I'll close with this: I miss the Birthright campaign world! I wish it'd come back. |
