I think that's how he was in 1st edition- I remember the AD&D coloring book had a picture of baboon headed Demogorgon in it. The Gold Box set version looked more apelike, though, and the version in the Book of Vile Darkness had him with some kind of weird hyena-like heads on really long necks. So I think it just kind of depends on artistic interpretation, but IIRC, the original description of him (Fiend Folio? MM2?) |
