I think it's better classified as "rare" magic. I mean realm spells and battle spells are some kick butt magic and in terms of power levels much higher than most worlds. Granted their are very few wizards. Which label is best? |

The small small percent of people who fit that catagory would mean that each mage would have too many options and demands for his power/help that he can not just use his magic in a laid back way. And any mage worth his salt would be too busy with his magical holdings to really be part of society. Just the way I read it anyways. |

I like the "rare" but low magic works if you only apply it to magic items. also magic in this context pretty much is specific to wizardly magic (arcane in 3.5 terminology). There are still a substantial amount of elves around. And rare also refers to "greater magic" and not lesser magic. There are some cultures where you can pretty much forget about anything but clerical magic (divine in 3.5 terminology) - like Rjurik and Vos. But in the Khinasi lands there should be plenty of magicians around, bards on the other hand. . . . "Worthless as the word of a bard" is a common Khinasi phrase. |
