#1arghisAug 13, 2007 21:03:27 | I realize that i've probably not shared here this work i made some times ago. So here is for you curiosity a map i was trying to do with Civ3 game engine. The basic part is finished and i stopped after having too much trouble adding enough details to achieve a serious representation of the world (i.e : game limits town image to four kind ; modifying terrain is long and there's but a few terrain addition possible ... you'll see here and there part where i tried this or that, without satisfying success, here's another example from test => http://arghis.free.fr/d&d/map2/fireship.jpg the ship is indeed a ierendi special fire ship, the giant, well, a sea giant, and the floating island, well, the floating city of Serraine ; as a sidenote, i'm not the one who made those nice graphics, sadly : ) Be patient while images are loading => http://arghis.free.fr/d&d/mystara-worldmap.htm |

#3HuginAug 14, 2007 8:49:44 | So here is for you curiosity a map i was trying to do with Civ3 game engine. This mod for Civ3 was done by tjedge1 (IIRC) with help from some others and is available for download. It's massive at ~500MB but is incredibly well done. The maps that Arghis is showing is exactly how the game looks. I give it highest marks possible. Arghis, nice job putting the world map together. It's cool to see the whole thing like that as one map. Thanks. |
#4morphail_oAug 14, 2007 9:59:24 | Arghis this is wonderful! I especially like the way some features (such as islands) have a bias and the scale is a bit off the hexagonal maps. I think it makes more interesting as a players map. It is probably how empress eriadne thinks the world looks like after processing Heldamar's notes. |
#5arghisAug 16, 2007 6:20:12 | Hi I was indeed working with Tjedje1 (who came on this board sometimes i think) on some maps, and i think he must have kept some part for scenarii probably. But at this time, amongst other things known as life, i loose most of my work because of a crash, so i left the mod team ... I shall try to find an image of the big world map made for 1280 or 1600 screen. It look nice as a wallpaper for instance, or simply the faulty details don't appear unless you search especially for them, so with a bit of rework, it may perhaps be used to illustrate this or that. |
