Was there ANYTHING else around during the Blue Age beside the Rhulsti??

Either in 2005 or 2006, I came across a site that appeared to belong to someone designing new material for Dark Sun. As I recall, the projects were unfinshed, and one in Particular caught my eye.

It was flavor text for a project that would deal with a sentient species that lived on Athas at the same time as the Rhulsti (did I get it right?). From what I recalled, these unknown players lived apart from the ancient halflings.
The product's flavor text seemed to indicate that this unknown race survived the Brown Tide.

That is all I remember, aside from that the product's intended cover came from Brom (I think), depicting a large, muscular, blue-grey with large purplish sploshes.

I have not been able to find the above-mentioned site since the last time I was there, also in 2005 0r 2006...
Can anyone help? Or better yet, if the unfinshed project's maker gave up, perhaps someone connected to www.Athas.org could give it to someone offical to finish.

I repeat, I FOUND SITE! I do NOT have any ties to the site to It

well, i'm pretty sure there was other sentients around during the blue age assuming the blue age is what i think it is =P

specifically, in thri-kreen of athas it says something about a thri-kreen racial memory of living on floating islands when the world was covered in water (which, if i'm not mistaken, would be the blue age) and that they also remember the halflings (who, if i remember right, are descendants of the rhulisti?)

as far as large, blue-grey muscular creatures with purple splotches though, i can't help you there...

thri-kreen were indeed around, but were more primitive and IIRC had wings still.
someone also came up with the idea that nikaal were around then. i'm not sure if this was ever disputed, but i tend to like the idea.
also, don't forget the dolphins.:D

Something out of Ecco the Dolphin, maybe?

Actually, I was hoping this thread could inspire someone to try their hands at this unfinshed project. I'm not qualified to maked a Dark Sun Project.

By the way, if I remember right, the project was called The New Race, I think.

Yay! Flipper!

In 2ed the dolphins were actually more intelligent on average then any of the PC races :D

I forget where I found this before, but I like the idea that the Rhulisti, Thri-Kreen, and Nikaal were around in some form or another then. The Thri-=Kreen I tend to work with the notion they weren't sentient, and the Nikaal were.... barbaric at best.

It is canon that the Thri-Kreen were around in the blue age, that they had wings then, and that they were not intelligent.

Alright. I'll try.

First I must tell you I have never really played the game outside computers. However, I derive entertainment from reading rule books, accessories, and other resources, like message boards, like novels.
It’s strange, I know that, but I having been doing it for a long time. I’ve never been involved with real playing partliy because I don’t have the memory to retain the rules, and to be honest, playing, even online, makes me nervous.
What I would like to do is write flavor text and others figure out the stats for.

I am sorry if you disapprove

Strange? Not at all. Or maybe we're both strange. I have actually played very little as well. I do have an ongoing campaign that was going strong for about 2 years, died for a year, and got a second wind about 6 months ago. However, in the downtime in between, as well as the many years that had passed before the campaign began, I kept my imagination active by reading through the DS books as well. Might explain why I know retain so much of it, or at least have retained "where" to find information pertinent to any given DS discussion.

Question - If you had you're pick of material for which you'd write about, what would it be?

It's always good to socialize. Hang out with other people besides being online, behind a computer all the time.

Says YOU! Imagine whenever you "socialize" people would throw Pokéballs at your head and scream "GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!"
Happens to me all the time...

It's from Steve Bell's - still up now - website. Great stuff. Logical conclusions, good writing, nice new races abilities.

No, no. You have it wrong. You socialize with people to build their trust, then you can use them to power your 10th level defiler spells!!!

HA HA HA!
