I was just looking at the Fright at Tristor adventure and had the feeling it was meant to have a follow up. I know that the idea had been cancelled. But, I wonder what might have been the follow up stories.

I did use the adventure and was forced to come up with something when no adventures followed for my group. I created a Watcher using the first Dungeon magazine for 3rd Edition. I used most of the adventures in the book in some way.

What did any of you do?

I bet that the Pale triad had some follow up Year One and Year Two regionals for The Fright at Tristor. If they did have further adventures in that plot line, I doubt you can easily get them anymore. Check the Pale's Web site to see if they mention that story arc. The Fright at Tristor was way before I got into Living Greyhawk and the RPGA. And, I'm in a different region, too.

From what I learned elsewhere ( I believe it was Wikipedia ) is that it was a marketing experiment with the RPGA when they had the money to try it. I home game that required sending in the results. They were so overwhelmed and backlogged that they never followed up on it. Perhaps, a web enhancement in the future...

Whatever the results of the "marketing experiment" back in Year One, Living Greyhawk never packaged an adventure like The Fright at Tristor again. The campaign still collects adventure results at the Core and regional level. The Blight on Bright Sands is a recent example. So, gathering post-adventure data seems to work well. I strongly suspect that it was the packaging and distribution method associated with The Fright at Tristor that stopped that approach (you can't beat the regional system to get stuff out to people), not the process of gathering results.

Anyway, perhaps the the Pale triad has some more direction on what happened after the initial adventure. If there has not been a Web Enhancement for The Fright at Tristor since 2001, do not expect one now. Especially not with the campaign ending next year. Check the Pale's Web site and Yahoo! Groups. It is possible the region just dropped the story line, too.

As I recall, the processing of adventure results and distribution of paper certs - both of which went through RPGA HQ - led to the RPGA staff at the time being buried under mounds of paper. That, and budget cuts, were the main reasons the experiment was never repeated.
