It is not in a pass or mountains, more like brambles, in a slightly hilled region. There is no town, the dungeons are below Maure Castle, which is a circular walled keep. There are several watch towers on nearby hills, and ruined cottages nearby, and a bandit encampment. But mostly it is deserted area. ROB |

It won't be deserted for long---I'm rounding the area out for use in my upcoming MC campaign. More details will be available after I start to work on the maps.... |
#4yellowdingoSep 17, 2007 7:27:38 | Actually, it is Maure, not Muare. Thats not what it show on the original Greyhawk Maps...Its south of Hills occupied by Gnomes and North of the Mountains occupied by Dwarves and its right on the Border of the Duchy of Urnst...effectivly in a pass. Was there anything further about it in later Greyhawk Products? |
#5samwiseSep 17, 2007 12:06:49 | It is not effectively in a pass. The mountains are a small area of higher peaks that essentially "divide" the Cairn Hills from the Abbor Alz. Maure Castle sits cleanly on the Duchy of Urnst side of the hills. The other side of the hills is the Mistmarsh. There would be very little reason for a trade route through the very dangerous and extremely unpleasant Mistmarsh. |
