#1romtosSep 05, 2007 15:23:18 | I'm collecting the Planescape series for a while now, which is a real task, since I try to get it all for a decent price in the Netherlands, where it is rather rare. Now it's the case that both the box Planes of Law and the adventure Doors to the Unknown are still in plastic. Though I want to read them, it seems like a waste to remove the plastic. It also seems silly to buy another Planes of Law box, since I bought this one already, so I could read it. Sell it to buy a used one is silly, why did I buy it in the first place then? (Aside from the everly increasing value of an unused box). This is my reasoning anyways, which put me in this dilemma. Can someone give me advice what to do? |

If you want them just as collector items, because they're still in the plastic, leave them that way. And yes, it means you'll have to buy different ones to read. If you want them as books and game resources to use and read, then open them. Rejoice in the fact that you have decade-old Planescape books that nobody's used before, but open them and read them. It's what they're for. |

Whatever you do, I'd recommend you read the supplements in some form! |

Hmmm, PDF, I forgot about that option. Thnx. It can be locked now. |

#7thanaelSep 27, 2007 7:11:39 | Check out the acaeum site. Esp the Planescape subweb and the forums.(planescape and collecting appraisal subforums) for all your collecting needs. Esp. this thread Planescape boxes in shrink are collector's items. Normally I would keep them sealed (or if you're not interested in collecting sell it now and make some money in turn) and get either a pdf or a used spare copy. That what i did with my collection kept the beat-up ones sold the shrinkwrapped ones. Prices used to be quite high for shrinkwrapped boxes though Planes of Law is not among the highest priced. I'd estimate around $30-40 for it. Now with the dollar as low as it is it might not really make sense to sell it. (Or you could try ebay.de or ebay.co.uk.) But for Hellbound or Planes of Conflict this is another matter entirely... |
