They already did a bit of a preview for it in one of the Dragon Magazines a while back. But I would really like to see this as a fleshed out campaign world. That would be really great. |

Isn´t it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannara If I´m not mistaken there is project to doing a movie or film based in this work. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news07/070606f.php I have thought the franchise of Lord of Rings is too juicy to ignoreing it but the negotiations with Tolkien´s heir wouldn´t be easy. LoR d20 rpg can not being other D&D setting because the background is too.... diferent. Other question is the work of Tolkien has a great taste to nostalgia. A roleplaying campaing after of the destruction of the Sauron´s ring is..very difficoult. Lot of fan´s wouldn´t like it. A official sequel of LoT what would be liked by the most of Tolkien fans... is impossible mission. And if I´m not mistaken Decipher has now the rights to doing the LoR rpg (and Games workshops the LoR miniature game). |

From what we've seen of 4th so far, it looks like the new edition could work with Shannara quite well, though. I strongly doubt that we'll see any of that information "officially" reworked for 4th, however. But maybe once the full rules are released, we can work up a fan revision here. |

Yes Decipher has the rights, but they screwed up royally with it and havn't put out anything really in about 2 or 3 years except two PDF books to buy. They only care about their card games. They have stopped procution on every RPG title they had AND all Card Games except for a new one they are publishing now. |
