#1KingThorvarSep 30, 2007 18:49:00 | I'm looking for some ideas on types of vegetation on Athas and possible uses including actual names for the plant... anyone have anything like that already started? Thanks! |
#2zombiegleemaxSep 30, 2007 19:16:51 | there are cactus that stick needled like vines into those close enough to be attacked. there are sunflowers that, do something, i forget. bloodvines (blooddrinking vines that wrap around someone and suck them dry. brambleweeds, thorny brush like vinebrush. lots of differant kinda of plant life, lots of it is dangerous. im sure someone else can post more ideas with a bit better descriptions. |
#3phoenix_mSep 30, 2007 20:49:37 | Edible or not? I have a partial list, based on information found here, for both - I'm sure there is some overlap and holes. |
#4megido_dupSep 30, 2007 21:38:52 | This is why I love DarkSun. The plant predators can be as if not more aggressive than the animal predators. |
#5KingThorvarSep 30, 2007 21:56:48 | I'm interested in both types, but I'm focusing mainly on the types that can be used by PC's and NPC's in the campaign. For instance, a type of cactus that the heroes could find that may offer some type of sustenance or perhaps what types could be found in an aristocrats orchard. Mostly for roleplaying and atmosphere purposes! |
#6brun01Oct 01, 2007 7:40:38 | There will be a section on Athasian Emporium that discusses a little bit better the Athasian vegetation... |
#7dunselOct 01, 2007 9:13:36 | Wasn't there a netbook which has copius amounts of flora and fauna? Sorry, but I do not have the time to search for it right now but it should be fairly easy to find with google. |
#8GrummoreOct 01, 2007 9:29:33 | A long long time ago in a galaxy, Teos Abadia and Gerard Lewis (two of the greatest DS fan) who now are retired from DS, created a document about the Athasian Ecology. It's extremely great for those new DS fan around here. A MUST read : http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Vault/2549/ecocolor.pdf |
#9xlorepdarkhelm_dupOct 01, 2007 18:15:53 | Someone on this forum had compiled a list of foods for Athas. I think that you can find it in the forum archive post stickied at the top of this forum. |
