Hey folks, ala another thread on this board, I was wondering what 3E products people have found useful for their Mystaran campaigns. Red Hand of Doom seems to be one that's pretty good, are there any others?

I've used "City of Splendors: Waterdeep" an lot. Basically Alpha = Waterdeep in my campaign. I've had to make a few changes; King Eric replaces the Lords Of Waterdeep, and Skullport has gone. However, the map is almost perfect.

I've also used "Silver Marches" in the same campaign. Silver March = Norwold; except Norwold has alot more dragons.....

I like the environment series like Sandstorm (for the Great Waste), Frostburn (for Norwold) and Stormwreck (for Ierendi, Minrothad, Undersea). Also the Underdark was useful to get inspiration for the fan created UnderDeep aka Gwaithallen, which is an expanded version of the Caves of the Shadowelves.

I found many Mystara-pickings in the Eberron campaign setting, of all places.

Shifters would fit nicely into Karameikos. And the Dragonmarked houses would work well in almost any country.

Pity the Known World is really too small for the Lightning Rail....

Like Havard...I too have found the Frostburn,Sandstorm, and Stormwrack to be helpful. I also use Libris Mortis for beefing up my undead. I have also used the pre-generated dragons from The Draconomicon.

Best for my group, so far...
Stormwrack - for Minrothad, Ierendi, and Isle of Dawn
Races of Stone - for Rockhome and other dwarf enclaves
Sandstorm - for the Great Waste and Ylaruam

I still have a lot of books I haven't tapped yet, plus places in Mystara I haven't explored. I'm sure I'll find more great material in my next couple campaigns....

I'd second Havard's proposal of the FR Underdark book for Mystara underground campaigns.

Also, the FR Serpent Kingdoms book could be incredibly useful for campaigns dealing with subjects like the Carnifex or James Mishler's Serpentines (or even Kopru). Lots of material to plunder for scaley campaigns.

I like the Expanded Psionics Handbook for Yavdlom stuff, though I think there is a general consensus of not liking psionics for Mystara. As an alternative, I think the mechanics in the EXPH could be adapted to represent the abilities granted by the Red Curse in the Savage Coast fairly easily.

The various monster books are certainly good choices for adding to a Mystara game. Of note aside from MM1, Necromancer Games Tome of Horrors 1 has a lot of the classic D&D monsters redone for 3rd edition.

The Isle of Dread material from recent issues of Dungeon Magazine is also very good for Mystara games set around that infamous locale.

As mentioned above, I think the "environment" series of books like Frostburn have a lot of potential.

Oh, and don't forget the Kill Bargle! adventure in the last paper issue of Dungeon. :-)

and the prequel module to B4 Lost City, Masque of Dreams, in Dungeon issue #142.
