#2PennarinDec 22, 2007 0:07:07 | Since he's the Pixie Blight, and purported as a lithe figure, not much of a fighter according to Hamanu, here's what I found that corresponds to him, and it actually does honor to how awesome a Champion is supposed to look like. Probably that everything but the sword is illusion. http://pennarin.multiply.com/photos/photo/1/19.jpg |

In Athas.org's version, which follows most forms of canon, Wyan died before the Champions became dragons and claimed cities, thus becoming sorcerer-kings. In this last case Wyan would have only been a Champion. If you go this last route, I suggest using Egendo's stats from the PDF Faces of the Forgotten North, minus a few trinkets like the armor and the Claw. Give him a powerful amulet able to generate continuous illusions (a glamer spell of some kind, high level), and a +6 cold iron pixie bane sword, either bastard or greatsword, to match the picture. If Egendo doesn't have a level of fighter, give him one, or any other class you might like that provides the appropriate weapon proficiencies. Cold iron doesn't exist in modern day Athas, but it's a simple process that would have existed in the Green Age, and it damages fey creatures. You may also peruse the Athasian Emporium for items to give him, but the less the better, as these guys didn't much care for items. Or if you give them items, then only a few and have them combine many other items' powers. I suggest you use powerful epic protection spells, giving DR and AC. No need to actually wear pesky armor which would provide spell failure chances. |

#6cnahumckDec 22, 2007 14:33:53 | Egendo has no fighter levels, but the "transform" spell can make up for that. Plus, if you are using illusions, make it a long sword and have it just look bigger. Pixies ain't that big anyhow. |
#7PennarinDec 22, 2007 15:30:15 | Like I said, he would need to do a bit of modifying. The simplest way is to add 1 level of any class - base class or PrC - that he wants Wyan to have and that confers Martial Weapon Proficiency, psychic warrior would do it. That way he just adds up stuff to your writeup, Chris, not remove or exchange stuff. Its easy. That sword looks like its a bastard sword, IMO. Too thin for a greatsword, too long for a longsword. You're right about illusions though, this sword could be a longsword and look like some impossibly cool sword still. Mmm, Bruno wants to add the Champions to Legends of Athas, if possible. Maybe we'll add the Pixie Blight, even if he never made it alive to the Age of the Sorcerer-Kings. Your stat blocks, my unique items, terrific combo ;) Plus stats for Wyan's head-form, after he's beheaded. Those would rock actually. |
#8PennarinDec 22, 2007 15:36:53 | Pixies ain't that big anyhow. The sword would be used against whatever the magic-using pixies throw at him, and to quell human uprisings in the Heartlands, as his armies take all the able-bodies as cannon-fodder. The pixies themselves would be, like mentionned earlier in so many threads, cleansed by burning their forests down. Of course the forests would be warded against fires, but that's what epic dispel magic spells are for...it just takes a bit of time to go through it all, say...a few centuries ;) |
