Hello people, I make this thread in order to fomment a better Athas for everybody. The NPC´s listed here are from the following books:

He will use Sleep on humans trying to affect an area were there are many Dattos, if forced to flee he will cast Wall of Fire so the mercenaries of his brother can retreat, and will use Invisibility Sphere for him and Grak.

Ooops sorry , the letter D, doesnt stand for domains, the spell listed after the letter D belong to his divination school specialization...

OIC - well that does make sence, but maybe you want to mark all of his specialist school spells with an * and then say something at the end of his spell lists like "* Indicates spells from divination school" or something.

I know, I got em from the Villages of the Waste version 1.1 from this site http://athas.org/releases/votw/

And we all know that in 2nd edition character creation was made by rolling 5d4... I only convert em with DSC 3.5

I guess I could lower his charisma to 15 applying the Mul race modifier to charisma, it´s a thought

On could go with 25 point buy for elite NPCs (ie named ones) with 32 point buy for majojor characters or just assign scores for the realy major characters (Sorcerer Kings, Heroes of Tyr etc).

My PCs use 32 point buy which usually works out to be something like 10,12,12,14,14,16. We tried 25 and 28 but certain classes like Monks and some others got gimped to much. 32 point buy is alot nicer on Bards, Monks, Paladins, Rangers and some others. 25 point buy = Fighter/Barbarian, Rogue, Cleric, Wizard type parties most of the time.

The simplest method to convert from 2nd to 3rd is to take the 5d4 (5-20)stats remove the 2nd edition racial modifiers subtract two from everything (3-18) and apply the 3rd edition racial modifiers.

Example: My 2nd edition 1/2 elf Ranger
S:17, D:19, C:16, I:12, W:14, Ch:17 (+1 Dex, -1 Con)
Converted to 3rd edition
S:15, D:18, C:15, I:10, W:12, Ch:13 (+2 Dex, -2 Cha)

My GM was nice and allowed me to re-roll, he liked the character concept.

Semponius is given a Obsidian Short Sword during the hunt, feel free to fi any weapon to his hand, I just put the weapon he uses during the hunt, and from what I understood hes a longsword specialist hehe

The dagger +2 is of magical nature, its a magical iron dagger with a +2 bonus to hit and damage nice eh

Sonofa is that with CON bonus figures in already? I know it's Dark Sun abd all but 80%+ of Max hit points for everyone.

I'd use Max HP for the first 2 or 3 levels also, after that go to 50% (12=6.5; 10=5.5; 8=4.5; 6=3.5; 4=2.5 keep track of the decimals they should add too)

Your conversion of Puram of Urik caught my eye, as I just used him in an encounter for my campaign. It would seem, at least with him, that your level calculation is off. In the official conversion rules, when converting a 2nd Ed. multi-class character to 3rd Ed. you take the full amount of levels taken in that characters highest level class, then add 1/3 of all other classes (rounded down) to that.

For example:
A human fighter 6/ rogue 3 converted to 3rd Ed would be a 7th level character (of which the 7 levels can be alloted as you see fit) - that is all 6 levels of fighter plus 1/3 of the 3 levels of rogue (1); 6+1=7

Puram should be a level 10 character (8+ (1/3 of 8)=10). For the conversion I did, I chose levels in templar and seer, as the seer's power seemed more in line for his powers. For the Dragon Crown adventure, I gave him an extra level - making him a 3rd level templar, 8th level seer. I chose to give him more levels as a psion, as this seemed to be his "secret/true power". Offsetting the levels also allowed for much of the same versatility as the 2e version.

Sonofa is that with CON bonus figures in already? I know it's Dark Sun abd all but 80%+ of Max hit points for everyone.

I'd use Max HP for the first 2 or 3 levels also, after that go to 50% (12=6.5; 10=5.5; 8=4.5; 6=3.5; 4=2.5 keep track of the decimals they should add too)

In our campaigns we use max HP per HD for all of our PCs, NPCs & Monsters. Balances out pretty well & makes the fights a bit more interesting.

Nice job, too bad I haven't looked at these before. Would've saved me a lot of job (it will help for the Dragon's Crown adventure, though).

I did convert most of the Ivory Triangle, Arcane Shadows, and Dune Traders NPCs if your interested (wouldn't want to steal your thread).

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I would assume you've kept copies of the characters on your computer - yes. If so use them (when your finished that is) to make a master list in some type of text file. Submit the whole thing to, say athas.org, in an E-mail or other people begging from here. You don't really need to worry about the boards that way.
