#2highpriestmikhalJan 25, 2008 11:27:45 | It would help if the character in question is in a psionic class, to begin with. Otherwise it's hard to justify the transformation unless they do some really bizarre things. The first step might be they gain +1 to +4 PPs but their skin turns a faintly gray-mauve color. The second step might be they gain a +2 bonus to their primary attribute (Intelligence for psionis, Charisma for wilders, etc.) but must eat a piece of brain matter from any creature or they can't regenerate PPs. The third step is their skin toughens and hardens, granting +3 natural armor but vestigial, fleshy tentacles sprout from their face, causing a -4 penalty to all Charisma-based checks. The fourth step is their tentacles are now fully functiona (including the acid from the tips to penetrate skulls) but they can no longer feed on regular food, instead requiring brains from any animal to survive. The fifth step would be the ability to use mind blast at will, but now they must eat a humanoid brain every week or begin to starve. |

#4abrahamFeb 11, 2008 16:40:32 | Any other ideas for this & other terror tracks? |
#5highpriestmikhalFeb 11, 2008 20:22:12 | I can quote from one terror track I've been working on. Also, edit the list for the Path of the Mind Flayer so the second reads "+4 to governing attribute" instead of "+2." Otherwise it's too weak a boon for the level of the curse. Path of the Nosferatu This is taken from a BBEG, a cleric/wizard/true necromancer, I've been keeping under wraps for years. The villain was designed for a...ahem, "mature" audience and several steps have been altered to be more in line with the PG-13 rating that the boards demand here. Step one is that Charisma increases by +2 but they now find sunlight to be a minor distraction. Step two is the growth of retractable fangs, granting a bite attack of 1d4 (Medium-Size) or 1d3 (Small). But now they must drink a small quantity of blood or consume a bit of raw, bloody meat daily or begin to starve. Step three is a +4 increase in Charisma and a +2 increase in Strength, but now they can only stomach blood, becoming violently sick if they consume anything else and starving if they don't feed daily. Step four is an additional +2 to Dexterity, Intelligence, and Wisdom as well as Regeneration 2 whenever the moon is full. However they can no longer stand the presence of mirrors, garlic, or holy symbols. Holy water now burns them as undead creatures. Step five is the transformation into a Fledgling nosferatu, but find that they cannot spawn other vampires or spawn and must use magic to create minions. This is all largely off the top of my head, based on the changes I had written for the villain in question and--again--adapted for general use. |

#7ravenloftlover347Feb 20, 2008 21:27:06 | Any chance we could get to see the mature version? |
#8highpriestmikhalFeb 21, 2008 8:27:44 | Not on these boards, no. The original BBEG (G meaning Gal. This is a woman villain) is something they'd only allow on the (Im)Mature Forums. Her whole mission in life is perversion--perversion of life and death, of social mores, and ultimately taking revenge by tempting those who drove her and her family out of Mordent into falling from grace through vice (notably the Mordentish See of Ezra). Her interest in undeath is mainly one of simple power; necromancy is one of the most potent schools of magic in Ravenloft. Plus the undead are perversions of death themselves, another spit in the face of traditional values. |
