I don't know where I stand within the d&d community, but I still play 2nd Edition and love it. Planescape and Forgotten Realms really standout as my favoritesettings. The new stuff is wayyy too "manga" for my tastes. Anybody out there have similar opinions?

I'm with ya 100%. Took a look at 3rd when it came out and it seemed too much like a video game, too much emphasis on stats. Not really caring about 4th edition, I'll stick to 2nd.

I'm with you on this one. You should come across to the Out-of-Print forum sometime with the rest of us "old timers". I do agree about the artwork though. I prefer the style of the previous editions (like the old red box set for Basic D&D). The newer art had that manga influence that I really didn't think suited a medieval-inspired setting. Add to that the pierced Dungeon-punk style of some the illustrators, and I was definately turned off.

However, my favourite illustrator for any product would have to be Tony DiTerlittzi. I collect pretty much about anything he's done and he was one (of the many reasons) I also bought Changeling: the Dreaming.
