Okay, a curiosity brought by a few debates in the past, and a recent discusion on DotU and half-drow... Please, no fan rage at me, I am just curious.

I know drow in FR, but how are the GH ones in the aspect of... alternative subcultures, religions? Is there non-lolthite/dark seldarine communauties (probably demons worshipers surely...), maybe of non-drow gods and even non-evil ones? Which religions would they have?

This bring also if there is other such groupes who are divergent in a less religious way, like magocracies as a few cities iN FR. Or surface communauties of many genres.

The drow of Erelhei-Cinlu worshipped Graz't iirc. Also Lloth but originally she was a demon lord in Greyhawk. Also the Elder Elemental Eye, who is secretly Tharizdun in disguise.

See also Eclavdra's history which is tied to the history of Erelhei-Cinlu.

The nobles in the Vault of the Drow, Erelhei-Cinlu, worshiped Lloth and the Elder Elemental God, in both D3 and GDQ1-7. I do not believe Graz't is mentioned at all in these mods.

There's also a Living Greyhawk Journal article in Dragon (I forget the issue # off the top of my head) with some drow gods specific to Greyhawk. It was around issue #298 which had the Vault of the Drow.

The drow of Oerth aren't very detailed outside Erelhei-Cinlu. In Erelhei-Cinlu, gods worshipped include Lolth, Keptolo (Lolth's consort), Kiaransali, and Zinzerena. There are also temples to Vecna and Tharizdun.

House Eilserv of Erelhei-Cinlu formally worshipped the Elder Elemental God, and the priesthoods of the Elder Elemental God and Lolth were at war for a time. Soon after, the priesthood of Kiaransalee took advantage of the bad feelings from that war to rebel against the priesthood of Lolth.

House Vae, which originated beneath the Pomarj, worshipped Kiaransalee as their patron, but recognized her as subordinate to Lolth.

Beneath the Domain of Greyhawk, there are drow who worship elemental forces. There's a shrine to earth elementals there, whose priest casts mostly fire spells. This is the only really variant drow culture I'm aware of.

Because no drow communities other than Erelhei-Cinlu have been detailed, we don't know if there are magocracies, surface drow, or anything like that.

There are drow who worship Graz'zt in Gygax's novels, but there are no official drow communities who worship Graz'zt or any demon lord other than Lolth predominantly. They could well exist, but we just don't know about them. It's implied they exist.

Hmm.. I must have misremembered. Doesn´t at least Eclavdra in the ELH worshp Graz´zt. That could be a nod to the Gord the Rogue novels though...

Oh and about the title: "Non-traditional drow"

Greyhawk´s drow predate R.A. Salvatore´s writings on them.

In Iuz the Evil, it was stated that Eclavdra served both Graz'zt and Lolth simultaneously. Eclavdra and Graz'zt even had a child together, according to "The Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Graz'zt" - Athux. She eventually betrayed Graz'zt, according to Fiendish Codex I, and now serves only Lolth.

"Boytoy" is the right word.
