#1zdbMar 12, 2008 11:12:23 | Hello everyone, Quick one here: any construct created in ravenloft becomes gains the dread status? Let´s say i make a homunculus, it will be C. Evil and gain the dread capabilitieslike a dread golem? Or this is only for golems? |

Only when the creator is really, really empassioned with their creation would it turn into a dread construct (as happed with Mordenheim creating Adam). So no, constructs of any type don't automatically gain "dread" status; things have to go horribly wrong for that to happen. |

If you are trying to make a construction consequences be damned, then you'll probablely have a dread construct. And no, it doesn't have to be just golems. Any construct or object capable of becoming a construct has the potential to become a dread construct. Here's an example: A deranged inventor who doesn't make golems instead makes war machines. He pours his madness and hatred of other people into his creations. Because of this, his war machines are given slight sentience by the Dark Powers and become contructs. Usually in said situation, these contructs would be dread constructs as well. Any more familiar with this topic, feel free to comment and correct any mistakes I have made. |

The RDMG shows how cursed items can occur as a result of intense emotion, just like a dread golem. The two are identical in some ways. It all seems to point to the moral of "temper your passions lest they destroy you." |
