#1OninotakiMar 13, 2008 22:42:33 | Well as the 4th edition of D&D slowly approaches I have begun to think of all the little fluffy things that I like to have in each of my darksun campaigns regardless of edition. Some are new additions that I plan to keep around, and some are old ones that I couldnt get ride of with a firehose. Anyway I just thought I would share them with you guys, in the hopes of getting you to share your little pieces of fluff with me. Legendary Weapon/Armor smiths: I like to populate athas with the occasional master weapon maker, or armor crafter, and while the individual details may change to fit my campaign the overall details remain the same. -Thri-Kreen Master Weapon maker-specializes in all sorts of dasal based throwing blades similar to African weapons, mixes blood the blood of creatures it has hunted into his dasal to create blood dasal -Halfling Master Armor maker-Specializes in armors made from the hides of intelligent races. -Dwarven Banshee master armor maker- specializes in repairing ancient metal armors, and crafting new ones from metal scraps that he reforges. -Mul woman -who is an escaped Tyrian slave, she used to work for the kings forge before being sent to the iron mines as punishment for offending a high ranking templar, has become the table lands foremost weapon smith who works with iron, creating iron weapons unseen in the Tyr region for many a kings age. -Blind Elven Bone Smith -who crafts the tablelands most elegant bone blades, by psionicly coaxing the bones to reshape themselves into the shape that he desires. He must work with the bones of the freshly dead however. -Each city state -has their own style of weapons/armor that goes back to the founding of their cities. Each city also has a master weapon smith, or armor smith who focuses on weapons/armor of these styles. -Pterran Druid -who masterfully uses his earth and magma powers to craft exceptional obsidian and stone weapons and armor; these are often passed on to worthy defenders of the earth mother. Speaking of weapons and armor, no matter the edition I plan on always having the following types available to my players and NPCs. The 2nd name is the non-metal equivalent: Weapons/Armor Light Armor Padded Hide Leather Scale Shirt/Woven Giant Hair Chain Shirt/ Inix Scale Leather Studded Leather/Beaded Leather Medium Armor Agafari Wood/Laminated Wood Brigandine/ Inix Shell Leather Breastplate/ Kank Breastplate Scale mail/Ssurran Scale Chain mail/Rasclinn Hide Ring mail/Scrab Chiten Heavy Armor Half plate/Plated Klar Fur Banded mail/So-ut Scale Splint mail/Land Shark Plate Great Armor/Cloud Ray Hide Full Plate/Megapede Chiten Plate mail/Braxat Plate Warforged Plates Stone Laminated Wood Composite Creature Parts Agafari Wood Bronze Iron Steel Dwarven Steel( Mithral, True Silver) Meteor Iron (Adamantine) Shields Buckler Small Shield Medium Shield Large Shield Tower Shield Simple Weapons Gauntlet Unarmed Strike Light Melee Weapons Dagger Punching Dagger Spiked Gauntlet Mace, Light Sickle One-Handed Melee Weapons Club Mace,Heavy Short Spear Quabone Two-Handed Melee Weapons Long Spear Quarterstaff Spear Great Club Ranged Weapons Blowgun Crossbow, Heavy Crossbow, Light Dart Javelin Sling Martial Weapons Light Melee Weapons Axe, Throwing Hammer, Light Handaxe Kukri Pick, Light Sap Sword, Short One-Handed Melee Weapons Battleaxe Longsword Morningstar Pick, Heavy Rapier Scimitar Tortoise Blade Trident Warhammer Two-Handed Melee Weapons Falchion Glaive Greataxe Greatsword Guisarme Halberd Lance Maul Ranseur Ranged Weapons Longbow Longbow, Composite Shortbow Shortbow, Composite Exotic Weapons Light Melee Weapons Bards Friend Forearm Axe Widows Knife Wrist Razor Scorpian Claws Singing Sticks Slodak Talid One-Handed Melee Weapons Alhulak Bastard Sword Carrikal Dwarven Axe Flail Great Scimitar Impaler Macahuitl Manople Thanak Trikal Whip Whip,Masters Zerka Two-Handed Melee Weapons Calhulak Crusher Datchi Club Dire Morning Star Double Bladed Spear Dragons Paw Gouge Gythka Heart Pick Long Bar Flail Lotulis Staff Sling Urgosh, Dwarven T'kaesali Weighted Pike Ranged Weapons Blowgun, Greater Bolas Chatkcha Crossbow,Hand Crossbow, Heavy Repeating Crossbow,Light Repeating Crossbow, Great Dejada Greatbow Kyorkcha Net Shuriken Bolas Chatkcha Crossbow,Hand Crossbow, Heavy Repeating Crossbow,Light Repeating I also plan on making sure that the following races are always available to my PCs no matter the edition Racial Groups Description Blue Age Races from the Blue Age Halfling Original Humanoids Nikaal Original Reptilians Thri-Kreen Original Insectoids Green Age Races from the Green Age Dwarf Stout & Powerful Humanoids Elf Tall & Agile Humanoids Men Variable & Adaptable Humanoids Brown Age Races from the Age of Sorcerer Kings Dromite Elementally Organized, Hive Based Insectoid Jozhal a mix of velociraptor and prehistoric predatory land birds, Magical Inclined Tarek Aggressive, Solitary, a mix of beetles and woverines Blue Bloods Children of Halflings and their Descendants Dwarfling Dwarf/Halfling Crossbreed Elfling Elf/Halfling Crossbreed Manling Man/Halfling Crossbreed Half Breeds Mixed Children of the Halflings Descendants Dwelf Dwarf/Elf Crossbreed Half-Elf Man/Elf Crossbreed Mul Dwarf/Man Crossbreed Lost Races Civilizations far from the Tyr Region. #2lastardMar 20, 2008 11:38:32 | I love the title of this thread. To quote a famous French philosopher: 'Let's be rigorously fluffy.' Obviously there is a lot of this going on at the Dark Sun Freedom! (hence the name) site - not to plug my site in any way ;) Lastard >8P |
