Well as the 4th edition of D&D slowly approaches I have begun to think of all the little fluffy things that I like to have in each of my darksun campaigns regardless of edition. Some are new additions that I plan to keep around, and some are old ones that I couldnt get ride of with a firehose. Anyway I just thought I would share them with you guys, in the hopes of getting you to share your little pieces of fluff with me.

Legendary Weapon/Armor smiths: I like to populate athas with the occasional master weapon maker, or armor crafter, and while the individual details may change to fit my campaign the overall details remain the same.

-Thri-Kreen Master Weapon maker-specializes in all sorts of dasal based throwing blades similar to African weapons, mixes blood the blood of creatures it has hunted into his dasal to create blood dasal
-Halfling Master Armor maker-Specializes in armors made from the hides of intelligent races.
-Dwarven Banshee master armor maker- specializes in repairing ancient metal armors, and crafting new ones from metal scraps that he reforges.
-Mul woman -who is an escaped Tyrian slave, she used to work for the kings forge before being sent to the iron mines as punishment for offending a high ranking templar, has become the table lands foremost weapon smith who works with iron, creating iron weapons unseen in the Tyr region for many a kings age.
-Blind Elven Bone Smith -who crafts the tablelands most elegant bone blades, by psionicly coaxing the bones to reshape themselves into the shape that he desires. He must work with the bones of the freshly dead however.
-Each city state -has their own style of weapons/armor that goes back to the founding of their cities. Each city also has a master weapon smith, or armor smith who focuses on weapons/armor of these styles.
-Pterran Druid -who masterfully uses his earth and magma powers to craft exceptional obsidian and stone weapons and armor; these are often passed on to worthy defenders of the earth mother.

I love the title of this thread. To quote a famous French philosopher: 'Let's be rigorously fluffy.' Obviously there is a lot of this going on at the Dark Sun Freedom! (hence the name) site - not to plug my site in any way ;)
