#1barthalasApr 12, 2008 9:45:13 | Okay, so I'm okay with them stealing Gods from other other settings, but I'm having a problem understanding the justification of them bringing over both locations (The Temple of Elemental Evil, the Vault of the Drow, etc...) and people (Eclavadra). Personally I like to assume all the publish worlds exist in the multiverse, so for me this poses a problem. So far the olny "justification" I can come up with is this: What if the 4e core World was THE cradle from which all the others sprung from. Now when the Spellplague hit Abier-Toril, there where repercussions throughout the multiverse. One of these could be that some of these (locations, people, etc...) are "called back" to the primordial world, or if not called back, maybe duplicated. Yeah, I know this is kind of weak but I'm struggling with finding a better solution. Suggestions/comments are much appreciated. My distant second option is to make the new 4e World an alternate offshoot of Greyhawk/Oerth since most of what I have an issue with seems to come from (been stolen) Greyhawk. |

So all the other Worlds don't seem to exist with eachother in the cosmology. As such, having characters, places, gods, etc. in the core doesn't duplicate anything, since it only has that one World. So yeah, you probably won't find much support in the books, but your idea could work. |

(For that matter, Blackmoor existed in Greyhawk, while simultaneously being a separate world). And Kara-Tur was part of Greyhawk before it was part of Toril. This problem existed before 4e, and, if you want to play in the big playground (I do), you have to work it out for yourself. (Granted, I play in a very tongue-in-check reality, and established that the Temple of Elemental Evil has franchises a while back). Another solution: Earth-1 and Earth-2. Eclavdra-Greyhawk and Eclavdra-"Core". Alternate versions of the same character in two different realities. |
