#2janoApr 16, 2008 19:18:49 | Yap, moon is waaay to big. Besides the pick lacks something. Maybe dust covering horizon? (I've no idea if program is capable of such effect). Overall its very nice |
#3Silverblade_The_EnchanterApr 16, 2008 19:31:19 | Ah well, thought so but wasn't sure, Ral and Guthay are the moons iirc? one is green? I normally work in Vue Infinite, but been messign around with Mojoworld again for a change, so I'm not very skilled with it compared to Vue. Ta! |
#4hunterccApr 16, 2008 19:31:39 | sweet!! Yeah the moon is a little big, but the pic still looks great! |
#5xlorep_darkhelmApr 16, 2008 20:07:20 | Yap, moon is waaay to big. Besides the pick lacks something. Maybe dust covering horizon? (I've no idea if program is capable of such effect). Actually, if the moon is sitting on the horizon, and the atmosphere has a lensing effect, the moon might be right (if it is Guthay). Earth's moon can appear HUGE in the right atmospheric conditions. |
#6phoenix_mApr 17, 2008 5:00:17 | Nice work Silverblade, as for the size of the objects, that could easily be explained away with the lack of a visible foreground - it's a zoomed image. My question is what is causing, what looks like, the reflection in the valley below? |
#7KamelionApr 17, 2008 10:23:09 | Love it. It's now my desktop :D More!!! |
#8Silverblade_The_EnchanterApr 17, 2008 11:25:12 | Phoenix M, it's actually low clouds and dust over the sandy valley floor, reflecting A fellow on art forum suggested a tip, so I made an alteration in postwork...think this one's better? "Dark Sun Dawn v2 heat haze |
#9Band2Apr 17, 2008 12:01:50 | Great picture Silverblade. Got any more coming? |
#10Silverblade_The_EnchanterApr 17, 2008 15:30:42 | band2, cheers! Sorry mate I just make art as the muse takes me, can't and won't be tied down about stuff (health's bad, art's about all I do now, bar yak on fourms, lol, and stress is like garlic vs vampires, for me :p Someone asked me to make DS art for a pdf but I let 'em down, sigh, stress is seriously mojo bad for me) I've long wanted ot re-create Brom's outstanding "belgoi sorceror" pic in 3D, as that's one of my all time favourite pieces of art. Take me a while though afore I'm used to Zbrush enough to make stuff for that (or buy Mudbox, ugh I hate Zbrush). have bits and bobs I've collected for Athasian style scenes, so I want ot make DS art, but it will just be when it happens, sorry I'll need to build an argosy model and some buildings too,hm. |
#11PennarinApr 17, 2008 18:37:20 | Wow, v2 is quite the pic! The water, or whatever it is in the canyon, should be grainy and filled with millions of tiny yellow bits, giving the impression of great distance. |
#12JaysynApr 19, 2008 10:10:04 | Nice, but I always thought the skies of Athas were olive. Maybe this is over the Scorched Plateau? Your webcomic is pretty cool BTW. |
#13Silverblade_The_EnchanterApr 19, 2008 11:02:41 | Most of the artwork I've seen has shown Athas sky as orange...red giant sun after all ;) Thanks! having fun with the comic just takes some work tp make each one asit's all 3d, then "cartoonized". |
