"Sigil, city at the centre of the multiverse. Domain of deadly and enigmatic Lady of Pain, crossroads of the infinite planes, home for beings of light and darkness from every world imaginable and quite a few that aren't. Here all paths intertwine and all things meet their opposite. Where else would a true adventurer go to begin their career?

When chaos strikes the normally dead quiet district around the Great Mortuary in Sigil's infamous Hive Ward, the people know for certain that something awful can't be far behind. So the call goes out for heroes to bring peace back to the streets, and by hook or by crook your characters soon find themselves under the shadows of three factions, and caught up in the bloody aftermath that follows."

Desire and the Dead is a Planescape scenario based on the Ennie-award winning Planewalker.com website, keeping the Planescape setting alive for Dungeons & Dragons: Third Edition. Designed for those new to Planescape and even those new to D20 in general, this pack produces not only a heroic adventure, but a base of operations and starting point for a whole campaign's worth of scenarios. Desire and the Dead is a Planescape adventure for a party of four to six adventurers from levels 1 to 3, and is particularly suitable as the first adventure of a new campaign. Is it 3E or 3.5? I looked, but couldn't really figure out.

I believe Dan wrote it with 3.5 in mind - though efforts to convert to 3.0 should be fairly minimal from what I've seen while I looked it over. There's not a lot thats horribly edition-dependent. (My own gaming group is sort of on 3.25 - we pick and choose between the two editions, so I'm int he habit of making such notes.)

Thanks.

I was wondering, if Planescape is going to be in 4E, will the publishers purchase the painter that produced the publications as a particular pleasure to peruse in 2E? (The last two p-words were unintentional; I changed the rest for alliteration.)

I suppose it depends on the one you're talking about. Multiple artists worked on the line - though the most memorable is Tony DiTerlizzi. And Tony D I suspect is well out of their price range by now. He's the illustrator behind the Spiderwick Chronicles (the books they based that kid's movie that came out this spring on). I honestly think he's too busy with other projects. His website btw: www.diterlizzi.com

Aww, sucks. Would they still write the book in cant though? I found it especially amusing.

Given the current crew of writers? I seriously doubt it. They've as good as said they think cant and 2nd ed material are silly bunk. If you're looking for that old blood sort of feel, you wanna hop a portal to planewalker.com

Bloody idiots.
...well, SOME of the 2E stuff is completely silly (browsing through old Monstrous Compendiums lately), but not all of it.

I think I will seriously check that site out. Thanks.

As one of the playtesters for the scenario, I can really recommend it. It was great fun to run, and, according to my players, as much fun to play in.

What band of leatherheads said such nonsense? Any blood worth a bent copper knows that the chant's not straight if it's not in Cant! :viking:
