#1slipwingMay 14, 2008 7:01:00 | I am trying to flesh out the Great Waste a little more for my campaign and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an actual name for the people who live in the Great Waste? As far as I can tell, they are only ever referred to as the Desert Nomads. |

#3slipwingMay 15, 2008 6:05:39 | From what I can gather, they would the be descendants of the Urduk, most likely with Oltec, Nithian, Sindhi and Traladaran blood mixed in. CoM says nothing other than the Sind Desert is home to nomadic herders, hunters, and raiders, but does not give them a name from what I can tell. I also have not been able to find anything in X4 or X5. CoM does say that Urduk nomads can be found on the Barren Plain. If they do not already have a name, does anyone have an idea for a name? I would prefer not to call them Urduk as I want to keep them separate from the Urduk of the Barren Plain. |

I would prefer not to call them Urduk as I want to keep them separate from the Urduk of the Barren Plain. I think "Desert Nomads" would work -- make it Maravas ("desert people" in Sanskrit, also the name of a nation and people in what is now Rajasthan) for the local name. GP |
