Could I have been imagining it? If anyone has more stuff on the Plateau let me know Havard |
#2khuzdMay 19, 2008 10:33:57 | I have been thinking some times about Adri Varma plateau. To me it should be a wild, savage land, populated by: 1) Insectoid intelligent warrior clans (flying mantis-generals, mosquito bloodthirsty berseker-warriors, beetleoid heavy-infantry, wasp-warriors, bee-workers...); a dangerous insectoid leader (or Inmortal) unites the many, many clans and a buzzing swarm darkens the skies of Glantri. Insect invasion!!! 2) Medium-high level clans of harpies, many of them magic-users 3) Medium-high level clans of gargoyles (such as the ones depicted in a number of OD&Dities Magazine which I can't find now in the Internet) 4) Towers of Glantrian wizards that go to Adri Varma to do nefarious and indescriptible experiments. I think that many Glantrians do in Adri Varma what Alphatians do in Blackheart. It is a "rear courtyard" without rules nor control. So strange menaces come from Adri Varma, usually flying (insects, harpies, gargoyles, bizarre monsters), raid Glantri towns and roads, kidnap innocent people and powerful objects and heroes are hired to enter in the wild wastelands and recover them. I admit I'm always looking for places where medium-high level characters can confront many high-level enemies (and flying is a "must" in medium-high level campaigns). |

It seems just...silly...in places. I was flush with my first anthropology class and I think it shows (on the other hand, it did help convince me to get my degree in anthropology...) In any case, I mentioned in one of those old posts that the idea for reintroducing the Sand Folk originally came from a picture one of my friends drew. Well, I went hunting and, as it turns out, I still have that picture: Oh, the things we hang on to over the years. :D |
