#1the_elder_brainJul 10, 2008 23:52:19 | I want Rich Burlew's campaign setting.... It was second place in the competition, which means its good, real good. If the scheduling rumors are correct, they will be publishing one campaign setting a year, then this setting won't be published until Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Dark Sun, Planescape and so forth have come out. I really just can't wait that long. WHO ELSE IS WITH ME?!? Perhaps we can get enough attention that they might give it to us on DDI? Give us a peek! Throw us a bone! ANYTHING!!!! |
#2havardJul 11, 2008 3:39:27 | I thought Dawnforge was second in the WotC setting competition? Havard |
#3PalladinaeJul 11, 2008 6:37:34 | BTW, where can I find competition reults? I'd like to read them. |
#4the_overlord_02Jul 11, 2008 8:58:55 | Dawn Forge has been released. In fact I own this campaign (and just as 6 other flly detailed campaings, have not yet found the time to play in for I still am working in my won devised world). Dawn Forge has been produced/ released through Fantasy Flight Games And I would be interested in the final list of the contest. Several of the participating campaign/ ideas have been released through other companies. It would be interesting to see how many actually found their place in the grand series of Settings;) |
#5lord_karsusJul 11, 2008 21:16:18 | -I didn't know that a list of what entries placed where was released. As was said, it'd be interesting to see that list. |
#6the_elder_brainJul 11, 2008 21:43:17 | yeah, rich burlew got second place. if you aren't familiar he does the Order of the Stick comics. very very funny. im pretty sure that wizards bought it with little intention of publishing it anytime soon. i figure they buy it so that nobody else can get it. |

#8quale_Jul 12, 2008 8:15:07 | Dawnforge has interesting racial talent trees, other than that it didn't catch me |
#9congzillaJul 12, 2008 10:15:38 | Just bring back DragonLance and I'll be happy. |
#10PalladinaeJul 13, 2008 13:54:28 | Dawnforge has interesting racial talent trees, other than that it didn't catch me I liked it too, as well as the whole "young fantasy world" feeling. Dawnforge was considered to be setting of our current campaign, but FR won the first place. |
#11magnusseterJul 16, 2008 7:58:50 | Three finalists: Winner: Eberron, Keith Baker Shared second place: Nathan Toomey and Rich Burlew Qualifiers in addition to the three: Dawnforge (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/dawnforge.html) Morningstar (http://www.goodman-games.com/4100preview.php) Sunset Kingdoms/Alfar Tower Cappedocio Code of Unaris Reign of Ashes Urbis (maybe, I haven't been able to verify this one) (http://juergen.the-huberts.net/dnd/urbis/index.html) And one unknown. Not much is to be found about these settings. /M |
#12lord_karsusJul 16, 2008 10:00:52 | -How did you obtain this information? |
#13JohnLynchJul 16, 2008 10:12:46 | I'm confused. How did Dawnforge get published by anyone other then WotC? Or is Dawnforge not the Rich Burlew game? |
#14thanaelJul 16, 2008 10:38:28 | Check out the references section in Rich Burlews wikipedia entry for links to the WotC announcement and a link to the "What was your setting like? Will it ever be published?" entry on the FAQ of Burlew's site. |
#15amethalJul 17, 2008 7:46:36 | I'm confused. How did Dawnforge get published by anyone other then WotC? Or is Dawnforge not the Rich Burlew game? Dawnforge is Dawnforge. Rich Burlew didn't write it. The setting he did write has no title that I know of. WotC only own the rights to the three finalists. The other 9,997 entries were still owned by their designers. Some of them, like Dawnforge, have since been published. |
