Anyone adventure within Hollow World?

May 13, 2012 16:33:06		Just wondering if anyone still adventures within Hollow World? How do any of you feel about Shadow elves? I my group we decided to bring the Shadow elves to the 3.5/4.0 Forgotten Realms. What do you think?

Oct 04, 2012 13:15:22 		I'm toying with the idea of taking my current 3.5 campaign into the Hollow World for a few adventures, but haven't decided if it's too fantastic for this campaign. It's a fairly low-magic, down to earth, political intrigue style game. Which might make the Hollow World a great temporary diversion, or it might break the players out of the mood in a bad way. Hard to tell.

On the other hand, that makes the shadow elves a fantastic thing to use in this campaign. I love shadow elves. They are so mysterious and alien to even folks that have played a lot of D&D outside of Mystara. I love that they aren't drow. Eeeeeeverybody loves the drow - to the point where they are completely not interesting anymore and they don't have any tricks up their sleeves. But I can always surprise and excite players with shadow elves, because they are never quite sure what to make of them.

Introducing them into Forgotten Realms might be fun for that very reason. They would definitely be something new and different.

I once suggested a scenario where the Immortal who governs them might take the City of Stars and put it in Spelljammer Space on the outside of the Mystaran Crystal Sphere (which i concluded was a boundary beneath both the outer world and the hollow world in some seriously twisted topology so mystara is the centre of the Mystaran universe and the boundary that guards the exit into jammerspace) - so they could invade Forgotton Realms with their Magitech nuclear powered City-sized UFO like religeous zealots looking to subjugate those of the inferior faith. it would be like Warhammer 40,000 Crusade.
