If you are a GH fan you should pick this up. The wjole things is Set in GH. Clerics of Pholtus, the villian is ...... (well don't want to blow that one for you) they talk about the Suel. And on top of that it's pretty good

There's a total of four endings. two "good", two....well...not so good.
I'd say the fourth "Good" ending is the toughest to get to. If you're having trouble getting to the fourth ending, I have a couple of hints that could make it easier.

They're selling SoW at $19.95, so I got it for less than $15.
I pretty much have nothing bad to say about it. It also helps that I'm a CYOA freak.
Pros
1) The computer art is of excellent quality.
2) A 3 PC party was pulled off effectively. In fact, I was surprised that only Mialee, Regdar, and Lidda (yay!) were in a party, in a world where we are all born and bred for 4-6 PC parties.
3) It's refreshing to not have a cleric in the party - in fact, to work AGAINST a cleric of happy light and flowers and stuff. :p
4) The mysterious druids were entertaining (especially when you have the option to fight a pack of 6 druids. Insane!), and lent an exotic air.
5) Whether or not you find replay value, SoW is a nice source for campaign ideas (and to GM art assistants, a good source of art ideas)
6) The evil cleric (who we stereotyped as a blackguard) is pretty cool.
7) A LN character (Regdar) with personality is refreshing (I've seen too many boring LN's.)
8) Lidda rocks!

1) Free will is limited, but then again, it's a CYOA, AND an experiment.
All in all, this DVD has fulfilled its purpose. It was *not* meant to be anything more than an enjoyable CYOA, and it works well when played at parties. It's good for taking the place of a gaming session, in the event you conveniently "forget" to design an adventure.
Rock on, Wizards. Can't wait for the next installment.

Hey there.
While searching for info about Scourge of Worlds, I came across this article. At the bottom it mentions "Though Bono would not comment on Rhino's future DVD plans, DKP says that an interactive ''Scourge of Worlds'' sequel is being planned."
So there is hope, but no mention of a release date. With the special edition due out in September, I doubt it would be this year.
As for the special edition, I read somewhere (can't seem to find it now) there are two new endings (a new Good and a new Bad ending) along with some extra animations showcasing the environments and includes some concept art of the characters.

If you're really quick and pause the frame during this description (right when you're zooming out from the mages and the glowing orb) you can see three chromatic dragons down in the pit.

With that said I enjoyed the product. I'm sure that future product releases if any would be improved upon. Overall I found the DVD entertaining and the plus side is the number of different scenarios the movie can take.
Both adults and children find the interaction to be a positive in the entertainment factor. The movie also refrains from making the mistake of placateing to a child only audience. For it's replay ability and entertainment value alone I would give Scourge of Worlds 3.5 stars out of a possible 5.
As for a Deluxe Edition, just hit the website, and nothing there mentioned about it. You might trying to visit the site and email them. Site linked in earlier post to this thread.
As for the desert scene, yes, I like Mialee's sense of humor.
I would like to see the next DVD set entirely inside the Free City of Greyhawk, rendered to the maps in the City of Greyhawk boxset! Now that would be truly something to see! And talk about plots, there are hundreds that could be had in that one city!

The warring factions of the Baklunish and the Seloise (sp?) are part of the history of Greyhawk, (found in the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer), but I'm sure that the "Artifact" was an original creation.
The last I heard, the Special Edition is due out in Spring 2004, and includes two new endings (for a total of 6), a "making of" documentary, character concept art and environment flythroughs. And of course the Mialee mini.
Oh, and Dartagne: a City of Greyhawk adventure would be really cool. Rooftops, Sewers, Temples and Noble houses...I can just see it.

So it has something to do with the Twin Cataclysms? Im familiar with the Sueloise and Baklunish war, but didnt know this artifact was part of it supposedly. Should be interesting to see the full thing one day.

The Artifact is a weapon that was created by the Sueloise in their fight against the Baklunish. Unfortunatly, the Twin Caraclysms were unleashed before they had mastered it, and the artifact has layed burried for 500+ years.
Oh well, not much of a spoiler really. Don't want to give too much away

I found the CGI on the backgrounds to be excellent, as well as the Beholder, but the character movements and especially the wolves during the temple attack scene were very poor. I also found some of the dialouge between the characters to be just plain silly.
That said, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount that Greyhawk locations and history were actually used. It went beyond just saying "we are in Greyhawk" and leaving it at that. The story itself was actually pretty good too, which also surprised me somewhat.
