The 4th issue of the Tobril magazine has been released at www.dragonlance.com/tobril/ and at 35 pages it's bigger than ever.

The overall theme for this issue is MAGIC and you'll be able to find two prestige classes aimed at arcane spellcasters: one of them is a master of constructs, the other a guardian of time. You'll also find plenty of constructs to keep you occupied before you uncover some less well known magic artefacts of the Towers of High Sorcery.

If magic is not your cup of tea then you can always dive into our second Elven Champions article, this time covering the Windriders, an elite group of elven griffin riders. Warning: vertigo sufferers may want to avoid this article.

Here's a quick rundown of the full contents of issue 4:

- Roaming Krynn by Neil Burton and Luis Fernando De Pippo
- Artifacts of High Sorcery by John Grubber
- Fable of the Clockwork Kender by Sean Macdonald
- The Windrider by Richard Connery
- The Animator's Circle by Neil Burton
- Keepers of the Anvil by Richard Connery

We always welcome any feedback so if you any comments or suggestions about the Tobril, or would like to propose or submit an article for publication in a future issue, feel free to address us at: tobril@dragonlance.com

Wow... this is without a doubt the best Torbril yet.

The two articles that blew my socks off were the second and the last, written by John Grubber and Richard Connery respectively.

John's Towers of High Sorcery creatures are chalk full of flavour in regards to the undead and magical creatures spawned by the massive explosion. Particularly interesting was his use of the heartstones. When 3.5 comes out, I'll have to send him the stats for the stuff he vividly describes. Oh, and I'm using the "Tour Umbria" organization for sure. They add a much needed level of depth to the WoHS. The Children of the Lost Towers sound exceptionally scary. I'm also interested in the Followers of the Risen Kingpriest, but since I'm already working on mystics who have an alternate religion (The Seekers) it may be too much of a good thing. I do recognize the cult though from a seed planted in "True Knight" from the anthology "The Cataclysm".

The Chronomancy article was also excellent for the reason that with 5 different ages, to get full use out of them in the campaign setting, a little time travel is a good way to incorporate it. The Keeper of the Anvil prestige class is a good hook to pull the party on time-travelling adventures, introduce artifacts from the past into the current campaign setting, and more. It will be especially interesting to restock the Anvil of Time as a wizard's keep instead of as a dungeon. Particularly since having it as one doesn't preclude the other.

The Animators of the Circle by Neil seem like a pretty cool organization to join if you like constructs, and ties in nicely with the "Clockwork Kender" article by Sean MacDonald. As well, the Gray Tunnel adds another adventure setting, which is never a bad thing.

All in all, the best Torbril yet.

What's this Tobril? Is it for sale in stores? Will there be a DL magazine? That would be great, with plenty of RP-ideas, campaign ideas & story hooks etc! :pile:

Richard, that's the best article on chronomancy I've seen. I sense a time travel campaign looming in the future (or the past).
